How does things like this happen? It is lazy, unfit individual dog/cat owners who lets their animals have babies, then just dump them on Penny Clark. Penny Clark tried to save them, but there were just too many. So she gets stuck in the "limelight" as a bad person.
It sure saves heartache if the lazy @ss pet owner would be responsible for his pets.

Money in the bank, food stock piled, help offered, starving animals in cages with no
food or water. So, just who in the hell is
is caught up in anything? Check her track
record. Bad pet owners or not, you put something in a cage, YOU become by-god liable for it's
care. She should be treated no different than
any other law breaker. Bottom Line!

Robbie, I was going by what was written in the newspaper, but after personaly seeing these animals, I agree with you 100%. I am into Animal Rescue and have never seen these conditions before. I am asked to take so many animals, so that's why I understood Clarks position. But as a Rescue person, the condition of these animals is appauling. Clark is NOT classified as a Rescue, Clark is an Animal Hoarder. Clark says she isn't, but she is in denial and Animal Hoarders return to hoarding 100% of the time. Clark has all ready applied for her license.

Lola,I know this person and her motives
prior to New Hope. Sorry if I came across
as being rude. Not my intent. It just
chaps my butt to no end when if it were
you ,me or anyone not being represented
by garth and trisha, what would be happening.
We'd be in JAIL. She has a family, two children. I don't want to see her in jail. What I do want
to see is that she is not to be able to do
this again,EVER. WE'll SEE.
Have a wonderful day,see ya. R.T.

Once again, WRONG! Penny is not a hoarder and she has not applied for a license. Present some facts so we can all be amazed at your wisdom, because so far it is nothing but rumors, lies, and twisting the media's words. Neither of you has ever been to Penny's house.

Tough words with no truth. You have never been to Penny's house and there is no way that you have close friends, Robbie T. Instead of hiding behind weak misspelled words and poor grammar, I need your complete name for our records and where you live. You might be surprise to know who I am, how knowledgeable I really am, and what the authorities might use your name for. I will forward them "Robbie T on AOL" and let them do the rest. I will get the last laugh.

Authorities? "surpise to know who you are?" (that should be 'surprised'. Please use proper grammar on this thread or I will report you)
Okay, well heck. You've got me. I guess it doesnt matter that Tim Harris has taken statements from my family for investigation purposes, nor does it conflict with the interest of prosecution that I have worked with Penny Clark for nearly a decade before this raid, or that my phone rang around the clock for requests for medical care for some of the dogs still at New Hope when they were not yet getting veteranary care, and I guess it doesnt matter either that we have worked countless hours trying to promote adoptions for the remaining animals at New Hope. Im not sure who you are but my interest is in the dogs who have suffered and died and to prevent it from happening again.(were you aware that this case was busted because 14 starved dogs were taken to the Tulsa Shelter to be cremated to which they reported Penny?)As far as facts go, the facts are clear. 150+ dogs & cats were not being fed and watered daily and were infested with mange, fleas & ticks. Many died before the raid and many after. When Animal Control raided, the sickest dogs were deemed non treatable and humanely euthanized. The remaining dogs are STILL recovering after weeks of care. The investigators, just going by photos of her facility, have vowed that she will not operate another rescue in Tulsa County. Some of the people who recovered animals from her house became violently sick and required therapy afterward due to the images of dead and dying dogs, filth and maggots and rotting carcasses. For anyone to support this is absolutely scary! I cannot fathom anyone stating a defense for this serious neglect. Our State has made tremendous progress in prosecution of animal crimes, electing felony charges in situations like this one and we are finally out of the dark ages of "slap on the wrist" for animals in Oklahoma, and people who would wish our justice system to regress after the distance we have come is absolutely infuriating to me! My wish is that nearly 200 counts of animal cruelty do not go unpunished because of ignorant people who chose sides due to popularity, not fact. Now, if you do not mind, this thread was intended for discussing a topic that completely "pisses me off" so if you are offended by grammar and vulgarity, I suggest you go play in the romper room with the other kids.(whoever you are)Oh and by the way, might check your dogs for food and water. Your standards of care might be lacking.

Oh, hey Fernon. Sorry. Didnt know I was talking to Penny's husband. Must be really hard to read all of the outrage people feel about what went on at your home. I know you are just defending your family, but you have to understand...I SENT DOGS TO YOU FOR CARE. It's personal...very personal. Best you could do is stay off the internet and stop posting things to further enrage the DA.(and the authorities already have my name)

A decade working with Penny? I think not. Very dramatic description with big words, but again, no facts. You know nothing about what they found at her house. I am obviously having a discussion with a adolescent coward.

Okferndog, it is my understanding you are Fernon Clark.(I do my homework) I'm glad you posted. What was the circumstances that you let so many of these animals get in such horrible shape? The first day when you were up at the new location, I personally heard you talking like you were perfectly innocent. Then when I went inside, Penny said all the animals were fine and healthy. Fernon, they weren't. If you and Penny can not see this, you are in denial. I am the one that mentioned Animal Hoarding. Please google the term and see if you agree with me.

I have worked with animal rescues in the Tulsa area and I DO know Penny and her efforts. Animal rescue IS an overwhelming task in the Tulsa area and Penny should not be attacked for her efforts. Rather you critics should attack the ones who drove their unwanted pets out to Owasso and dumped them on Penny's lawn....

I think Penny's heart is in the right place but as you all can see Fernon is an ass. He took home the company dog where I work and it soon was dead just like these poor animals. He was also taking home aircraft parts to use for animal housing.

I think that anyone who has known the Clark family well, regardless of this problem, will tell you that they have tried to be animal advocates for years. I don't know how this got so out of control but anyone who truly knows Penny cannot say that she doesn't give her whole heart to strays. Penny has spent many, many unpaid hours trying to take care of animals. Who knows how ill many of these animals were when they got to her. I know her heart is in the right place, no matter what else is decided.
By the way, whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty. If you believe that everyone who is arrested is guilty, be sure to tell the lawyers that if you ever get called for jury duty. See how well that goes over.:)

Thats exactly the saddest part of this tragedy. I could have helped. Many could have helped. We all were counting on the resource for stray dogs. I gave out her number and recommended her, not just for animals but for support. Im sure many people, like me, feel betrayed. We betrayed the dogs and cats because we trusted as they did. I cant possibly imagine that you have any insight to any of this living so far away. Instead of a message on the phone telling callers the shelter was full and they needed help caring for the animals, there was a message selling concert tickets. The investigation proved money was not an issue, so evidently priorities had changed. It really bothers me that the messages that are going out on this subject are so mixed. It wasnt one thin, emaciated, starving animal, it was dozens and dozens. Disease is not a defense when food and water brought the survivors back to health. Her own supporters who helped care for the animals after the raid, turned against her. Im certain you have tremendous insight, but your messages are heartless and ignorant. Finger pointing? No. Campaigning for justice for innocent victims of horrendous crimes? Thats my position. If these were children locked in a room and refused basic needs, forced to lie in their own excrement, there would be no forum. We would all be on the same side. I guess there are not enough of us who believe that animals all feel hunger and thirst as we do, and people responsible for their care have no excuses for neglect. This crime should be an outrage to all, but the most aggravating aspect and one that creates tremendous worry to me is just how many people still believe they did nothing wrong. Dont open a soup kitchen if you don't have time to make the soup.

I can tell you I worked with Fernon at the time he took the Company Dog, and if it had not been for him, others were going to have her put down. She was an old dog that I helped take care of for about 13 years. He and Penny took very good care of her and sent us pictures of her. Fernon and Penny are very big hearted and tried to take the very best care of all the dogs and cats they received.
