If they call it a "HOLIDAY TREE" instead of "CHRISTMAS TREE" I'm gonna slap somebody!

I heard someone on tv last night state that even the word Holiday is not really PC because it is derived from Holy Day which is also a religiously based phrase.

How about December Tree or "It's a ploy to sell all kinds of crap" tree?

"Christmas" tree!? Ahhhhh, I've been offended somehow! And I erringly believe the Constitution protects me from being offended!

I'm putting lights up tomorrow. But I just don't feel in the spirit this year.

Anybody out there got some old Bing Crosby I could listen too?

Oh yeah, don't forget to go to your childs Winter Festival Program. GOD forbid the public schools use the phrase Christmas Party. Hope you all enjoyed the Harvest Festival too. Wouldn't be caught dead calling it Halloween. What's wrong with todays society? Everyone is so frog-butt tight about offending anyone. My parents always celebrated Christmas, Halloween, St. Patricks day (look out Catholics - Newdow will be on you for this one too) whether it be in school or at home. This was in a time where people respected each other and the country seemed to do fine. Newdow is full of himself - he has no problem spending the money that says "In GOD we trust". If he were worth anything, he'd be poor because he would decline any money.

As for the CHRISTMAS tree, the ornaments are a nice touch. They are from disabled people. However, maybe the governor should hang some empty gas cans and deeds of trust on the tree to remind everyone how ridiculous this really is. At least consumer spending was up a little from last year - meaning that our children, family, and friends won't suffer by not getting a gift. I wonder if our political figures would donate a couple gallons of gas to me so I can go buy presents?

"The governor's office reports the lights will be powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system for the second year in a row in order to reduce California's carbon footprint."

What a frickin' joke. I'm not against using lower voltage bulbs and all to reduce energy consumption, but if anyone thinks this will do anything to "reduce a carbon footprint," you're an idiot.

Carbon footprinting is a scam.

I have all the charles shultz videos, the frank sinatra christmas, deam martin christmas special, bobe hope, etc... I have it all... man... all that is missing is tons of people who appreciate it like I do
trust me, there are lots of people who do enjoy that every year. There are the few that take it away from public view and then give the line of crap that no one wants it anymore. Just like renaming Christmas to Holiday. What is the saying? You can dress up a dog but he's still a dog. It's still Christmas.

I can always count on you Mergeman. lol

I remember walking into my mothers house and she would have on what she called "My Perry (Como)". And Dean Martin. She loved Dean Martin too.

Gonna put the lights up today when this ugly fog lifts. That always helps.

Sure do miss Mom this time of year. She loved Christmas.
