ridiculous ticket prices with ridiculous service charges..
useless traffic control....
no room on the grass..
can barely see the band and hear the music....
people tripping over each other..
good place to tailgate and for teenagers to get very drunk, but the Meadows is the absolutely worst place to go see a band...

I guess it is time to stay put in your rocking chair then. If you don't go, that is one more ticket someone else can use to go enjoy the whole concert experience. When is the last time you price a show at Mohegan?

Rocking chair? I'm in bands myself...
I'd rather go to a club and actually enjoy the band...
I'll take Mohegan Sun anyday over the useless Meadows...
Real seats at Black Crowes, Ratdog, Phil Lesh were all cheaper than lawn seats at Tom Petty..STP was close..
Mohegan Sun fits 10,000 compared to 24,000 for the Meadows (technically)...
You can hear and actually see the bands there..instead of staring at a far away screen and pretending you're at a show...
Go to Mohegan, no traffic getting in, ever at a show....
Leaving there is a little bit of traffic, but none if you know to sneak out to RT 32 instead...

Wait, if the "whole concert experience" is people vomitting, people stumbling and falling down on top of us. The EMTs taking people away.
Then you're correct about the "whole concert experience"..
I have no problem with people drinking and smoking and enjoying a show.
There is no need for my tickets. The meadows obviously will sell as many as they want..
Have fun trashing the place at DMB...

Thank goodness Clear Channel/Live Nation gives us such a great value for our $$$$$$$$$$ This is what happens when ultra-large corporations are allowed to swallow up every radio market, amphitheater, civic center , concert promoter,etc... No competition, they can do what they please.$200 Clapton tix?$300 Eagles tix? No thank you.

Sitting in traffic for over an hour to get in is part of the concert experience?
Having the cops send you around in circles?
Walking a half mile back to the car, because the cop lied about there being an accident?
Then, waiting an hour to get out of the parking lot?
...what a blast...

The shows were great - the Meadows is a vomit filled fit where the worst criminals are those behind the concession stands. ELEVEN BUCKS for a beer? Gimme a break.

I went to this show and had a great time. I only frequent a few shows a year because of cost so I pick the acts that gives the most bang for the buck. Yes ticket prices are high, tell the Eagles to go f$$k themselves and their prices.
The entertainment was outstanding from both acts so I assume the above posts like this part. As for the venue and its issues, I offer the following:
I parked for FREE on the street near the RPI building in Hartford. A short half mile walk with lots of people. Show was over at 11:45 and I was home (E. Htfd.) at 12:20, and I did stay for the encore and the ending bows. Think ahead and you could solve the parking problem. A great night for a walk and talk about the concert.
I saw lots of drunks and smelled lots of weed. They went about their busiess and I did too. We never crossed paths to the point it negatively affected my concert experience.
As for beeer costs, I paid $8 for a 16 oz. bottle and $7 for a draft. Don't know where the guy above paid $11 bucks but maybe his friend ripped him off. Still a lot to pay but so is $10 for a glass of Chardonnay my wife likes at our favorite restaurant. And they let you buy two beers. Mohegan would NOT let me buy myself a beer and my wife a wine without her going down to be present for the purchase. Dumb rule of theirs.
The other issue I have with the casino is that you have NO chance of getting good seats. They reserve them for their "high rollers" who stroll in late, leave early and have no clue why they came to the show other than to say they went. Tom Petty had true fans in the shed.
Went to a lot of concerts in the 70's when Don Law ruled the roost in the northeast. Tickets were cheaper but my college job payed little so I picked and chose my favorites to see. This was 3 hours of pure rock so the $120, includes the friggen fees, was a good deal to me.
Great show ---sorry some didn't feel the same way.

sam adams was $11, bud was $8
that's why we did the heavy drinking in the parking lot...
the grass was packed a lot more than i thought it would be
usually you cant plan the parking situation. you go where they point you (in + out). i would love to only be 1/2 mile away and able to get out quick!
you'll never get a seat for a name band at the wold den....
at mohegan sun arena and other places, if you log on when they go on sale and go for "first level", you should get good seats every time...don't try for "best available" because they will give you far back on the floor...

Sounds like everyone is over analyzing...it's a concert and a night out. I had a great time, went with the "girls" on a well deserved evening out. Saw lot's of "sights" but they didn't effect the time I had. I thought both Winwood and Petty put on a terrific show. I had no expectations prior to the show. Went with an open mind and really had fun...that's all that counts
