I think Tom Hardy as Heathcliff is pure genius. Can't wait to see it.

I have read that in this version that heathcliff
will commit suicide on hearing of cathy's death.
I wish they would just stick to the book.

Heathcliff is not going to kill himself, they are cdoing the second generation, it's been confirmed. It's the new film version with Michael Fassbender and Abbie Cornish where this happens.

Heathcliff did kill himself but not until 18 years after Cathy dies. Tom Hardy is such a talented actor. When I saw him play this character he became a instant favorite of mine and I have seen some of his other movies since.

Ooh, I saw this a few months ago on ABC-TV. But I think I like the book better. I remember reading it when I was about 10 years old, and I've just recently re-red it. I love the literary devices Emily Bronte used - with the tenant Mr Lockwood of Wuthering Heights as the narrator in the beginning, and then the housekeeper Nelly filling him in on all the history of Catherine, Heathcliffe, etc. It's like the reader takes on the part of Mr Lockwood, and we're listening to all the gossip that the housekeeper provides!

I'm down to the last chapter. I read the first half on New Year's Eve, and because the story is set in the dark, stormy moors a lot of the time, it was weird when the weather changed from 40 degrees to the wildest storm in Melbourne for years! They even had to postpone the fireworks because of all the lightning and rain! Haha...I think I'll always read the first half of Wuthering Heights when there's a heatwave - it seems to have an dramatic effect on the weather!:) I love the cooler weather.
