Let's see if we have this right. You cannot film there because it does not conform to the morals of the church.. But when the priests were caught hiding the eucharist with the alter-boys, you just moved them to another church and made the alter-boys out to be the aggressors.

Amazing. The church bans filming in churches because it contradicts their views; however, they allow a racist priest like Father Pfleger to return to the pulpit. I am seriously considering leaving the church and finding a new religion. I do not want to be associated with a bunch of hypocrites!!!!!!

From the article:
"It's a film that treats religious issues in a way that contrasts with common religious sentiment," Fibbi told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. "We would be helping them create a work that might well be beautiful but that does not conform to our views."
Interesting. Fibbi never says it's not true.

I am extremely disappointed to think Tom Hanks would be involved in a movie of this sort. Just shows what money does - but you can't take it with you when you go - and if he doesn't ask for forgiveness - where he will go is not a good place.

I'm glad they continued to film. The first movie was very good. They wouldn't be upset if it wasn't for making up the rules they see fit to have. When my brother died in April in Peoria IL, we asked that he be given the last rights, but because he wasn't Catholic they ouldn't do it. I looked right into the nuns eyes and said, "God doesn't care what religion you are as long as you have faith". I was madder than a wet hen! Talk about being prejudice!!!!!!!!!! Keep on making those movies..........

You have to give credence to some of what Dan Brown has written. Ever notice how when the church is threatened, it retreats into radicalism and repression of others who dare to think differently? If you have nothing to hide, and you dismiss this all as fantasy, what';s the problem. The church gives credence to the arguments of Mr. Brown because they're behaving in a guilty manner.

Very observant. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

That subject is pure undulated B.S.,,As fiction,it fascinates the Catholic bashers,As history, its akin to the UFO,and BIGFOOT Kooks.
The church has every right to deny them filming in their two churches in ROME,if "Hollavod",wants to have that scenery, make it in one of their studios. However the city is avaiable to them.
I'm sure if they come charging into any one Else's church, synagogue, temple, home, those people would go APE!..its not a pleasant subject for those who reject this concept. Many do not accept this fantasy.
Try something like that with the MUSLIMS,why they would get a FATWA on your ass and cut your heads off.
First amendment is great, but not in my church when its offensive!

this makes no sense,if they allowed them to film in the church they could make enough money to pay the abuse settlements.

Yes, by all means give Dan Brown's books all the credence any other best seller on the Fiction List gets.
