Tom,have you ever heard of "Don't speak ill of the dead". Come on, your dad isn't hear to defend himself so you feel it will get you some publicity to say this now. Just shut up-we're tired of hearing you, have your baby and ruin Katie's life.
Daddy Cruise R.I.P. we know exactly what you son is wanting out of saying this and also he will have to answer to this when (and if) he gets there.

Tom always did think the world needs to bend to him. All reports I heard was of a happy childhood. Guess scientology changes or edited or audited that away for him.

I was spanked as a child and let me tell you it hurt..... But I'm alive and well today and thank my parents for being diciplinarians not Dr. Spock idiots. Tom Cruise was not beaten he was afraid of his father. He needs help- therapy perhaps. The father is not hear to defend himself -- dont talk ill of the dead-- the sins die with them. So many people that come from bad backgrounds but still manage to shine through. Many go back and forgive. I think tom needs to be humble and try to see the whole picture. Unfortunately without therapy he will never learn to understand the whole picture. Perhaps because he is too prideful and wants to exalt himself above his dead father? Little boy inside still wishing deep down he had his fathers approval.

It's amazing how people who had decent parents put down people who want to speak out about bad parents. Personally, I think that grown children should be allowed to prosecute or sue parents who have been abusive to them in other ways besides just for sexual abuse.

Parents who use their children for workhorses, or berate them on a regular basis, or beat them should be open to lawsuits when the children grow up. No one else gets a free pass. Why should parents?

Good for Tom. I wish he would do more.

Hey, there is a HUGE difference between receiving an occasional spanking and being terrorized and abused on a regular basis! You have no idea the fear of living each day as a child and being at the mercy of a madman..who in the hell are you to judge anyone?

I can understand what he went through -been through it to plus a little worse -tom is suffering from anger and rage issues because he doesn't feel like he received justice for the abuse he had! I love Tom and really know how he feels!
