It would encourage me as a mother to take my children to see a movie that was more sensitive to modesty and no foul language. I am amazed at how desensitized people have become and having been away from native born state, California for 6years, I never realized how exposed womens bodies are. It was a shock to everyone in our family and even my son of 15 years old! We walk thru the mall in Orange County and as we pass women and girls of all ages, my comment of"pull it up" comes rolling off my tongue and my husband and son understand and laugh as shocked as I because they both know that this is someone's daughter, mother, sister.
I would like my family to be entertained because of good acting and not because they are caused to lust after someone.

My name is Levi, and I'm a christian filmmaker aged 19.

Currently, I'm directing a feature film based on end times concepts titled 'The Contemplation of Ethan'

I have used the common themes of todays society in the movie, because it is what the people of this generation are used to, and will do a much better job of getting the message across. If the film is too tame, the audience will not identify.

The movie based on the Janette Oke book, "Love's Abiding Joy" is due to be released on DVD, January 2, 2007. Those who have seen it in theaters note that it is rated PG for one insertion of "mild profanity."

What does mild profanity mean? Has anyone on this forum seen this movie, and if so, what was the exact language used? Very curious. Thanks.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean when you say "too tame." If it is a Christian film it certainly should not include profanity, nudity, graphic sex, etc. If it does, it ceases to be a Christian film. Violence, to a point, can be presented, but it should be "tame"--using your term.

Blood and gore, as seen in some "R" rated movies today, does not belong in Christian films. When I see a so-called "Christian" film rated PG, it becomes suspect, and many Christians I know shy away from it.

The movies from the Janette Oke books are good examples of Christian films. Young people seem to be identifying with them. Thanks for listening.
