Tim Allen given key to the city

In his latest movie, comedian Tim Allen is surrounded by a wife and ex-wives feuding over funeral arrangements for the supposedly dead character he plays.

Interesting story, I'm just confused about one thing ... why was he in New Milford? And why did they give him the key to the city? These seem like important details ... maybe someone can help me out. Thanks.

I thought New Milford was still a "town"-..since when was it a city. All I have to say is the mayor, in my opinion, embarrassed herself as well as all of us...New Milford postcard?, re-election pen?(which will be worthless after Nov) and a game??? I wouldn't be surprise if I saw them in a dumpster on the side of the road......How lame!!!!
