I can agree with the senior couple listed in this story. My daughters just competed in the Keystone Games this week and unlike in past years there was no Opening Ceremonies. I asked about it and was told that the state cut funding. What are they paying for. Most of the organizers are volunteers. There were no goodie bags for the athletes with a coupon from local resturants for a "special". I met one family who came for the diving competition as a walk on and they were told that they had to cancel it. There was no Cross Country either. This ia a great program and the volunteers work hard and verrrrrrrryyyyyyy loooooooonnnnng hours. A 7 hour swim meet is very long for spectators but from running a few of my own large meets it is pure adrinline keeping you moving. The state should kick in something, heck the law makers get a raise and do not give up their salaries when state employees are suffering and sacrificing. I am sure like in DC there is Pork spending that Gov. Spendel can cut. Keep the Keystone Games and Senior Games alive!

Granted, money isn't there for this year's KSG and Senior Games, but the question that should be asked is, "What was the spending like this year?" For example, there was a sport that cost over $5000 to run to pay for things that were provided for free in the past. This didn't include the facility rental or medals, but to pay for officials and other things. If there was no money for some things, then why was this money being spent? Why was money being spent this year and wasn't needed last year? Perhaps the York newspapers need to find out how much is being spent and how much does things cost.

Daily Horoscope for November 27

Gemini

Venus and Mars egg each other on, tempting you towards social and sexual excess. You're far too wise to find yourself in bed with a stranger, but keep the alcoholic drinks to a minimum anyway. You wouldn't want to get wild and then realize you've had a one-night stand with the boss's niece or nephew. Avoid iffy situations.
