...on the way OUT!
Just a bottom-feeder without value.
'hope his trailer-park following follows him east.
Pond-scum - pure and simple.
We can flush the toilette after him.

Springer is to journalism and catfish and other suckers are to fish.
Springer's just a slimy bottom-feeder with scales [to balance what's right and/or wrong].
Turn him off. He has nothing to add to the discussion.

An appropriate style to a sendoff for Mr. Springer would be to:

1) ignore his departure;
or
2) aplogize to Chicago
and send a sympathy card to CT

Looking for a word that rhymes with "transvestite"? A few years back Dear Abby had a column about a farmer's wife catching her husband wearing women's clothing and asking Abby what was going on. Abby's answer, "Oh, he's just a midwestite."

Garbage show, but Chicago is losing out on alot of money because of the high taxes.

I attended his show as an audience member a few years back-thought it would be kitschy, which it was but Springer is also quite aware of that and plays on it. It felt like a fun nightclub act and didn't seem as exploitive of the "guests" as it seems on TV. A lot was clearly staged, with staff whispering loudly to "guests", "Okay, now start fighting", "Chase her", etc.
Saw the Jerry Springer opera at Bailiwick on Belmont-EXCELLENT-hilarious and thought provoking.

See, there are some good things about high taxes!

thank goodness. does the show really think it is going to attract audience members or "guests." part of the allure for the trash on the show is to go to the big city - chicago.

Thank god that this human exploitative creep (Jerry Springer)and his entourage are leaving. I think Chicago will be a better place. Who cares about the jobs that will be gone, etc. Hopefully he will take half of his employees with him. This show is a disgrace to our country. I work with an Iraqian woman who told me that in Iraq, this show is what is shown to their people to represent the United states. Nice, huh? This is how they believe we all live. And that "reverend" makes me ill. Being Jewish himself and making his mockery of christians is sinful.I hope that he gets his in the end. The whole thing should not be on t.v. period and people that watch this garbage should be ashamed of themselves. Good luck to Stamford, cause there goes that neighborhood!

Perhaps the reason why Springer's show is so disturbing is because it is a reflection of people we see all around us...In stores these people do not smack each other although their expletives can be heard.

Chicago loses income at a time when replacement is nowhere to be found.

The show is in poor taste. But Mr. Springer does not use shady funds to produce it, and does only what he promises. Unlike most politicians, he is actually TRANSPARENT.

The public's frustration and anger may be misdirected.

Phil? Boobala? I never have watched the TV show, but why should Jerry stay? 30%......! Yes, it is all about the money. Note to Tribune, no future worries with Phil ever leaving for more money, not even a 30% raise will motivate him to leave.

Get real.

I don't care how we send him off. It's the "send him off" part that's important.

Pretty accurate description of the Springer show, what little I watch of it.

I narrated river tours for one of the Chicago boat companies for awhile and as we passed the NBC Tower would usually say something like: "That's where the Jerry Springer show is made. You tourists should know that no Chicago or suburban residents have ever been guests or even studio audience members and folks around here certainly don't watch it".
I'd get a couple of giggles and then tag it with: "I have no idea if what I just said is true; I just want to believe it so badly". Then I'd get the big laugh.
It would be great if a new, nationally-syndicated show the city can be proud of is made there.

The sad truth is there are not only people dumb enough to go on the show, but dumb enough to watch it.

Springer is only entertainment and should be taken as that.

Can't wait to see which other production packs their bags and abandons Chicago for Connecticut. Chicago loses out of Conventions due to the high cost and now Chicago will lose out on production companies due to the costs as well. If you can save 30% on costs by moving 30 miles away from NYC, it's a no-brain decision for any executive.

Again....

I love these good news stories with happy endings

Like someone earlier said....he should apologize to Illinois and we should send a sympathy card to CT !!!

Bye Jerry and please don't come back to Chicago for a reunion show or for any other reason !!!

Springer is like a car accident looking for a place to happen. The only problem is - it's the equivalent of insurance fraud, the way he sets up the 'accident' to happen loading his stage with bottom-feeders.
The 'appeal' of the Springer show is solely to those whom Darwinian evolution has skip'd.
Got riddance to bad rubbish.
