Russian ballet's steely-toed saviour
MARINA Semyonova, regarded by many in Russia as the finest classical ballerina of the Soviet era and who is credited with having single-handedly saved ballet from obliteration by the Bolsheviks, has died in her Moscow apartment three days short of her 102nd birthday.

MARINA Semyonova, should be remembered forever. The Russian ballet is a treasure the entire world steals every chance they can. Good for her and hopefully there will be many like her to keep the Russian Ballet going in Russia.
