First I will tell you that I did leave on good terms. I would not encourage anyone to donate a mere crumb to this organization for the following reasons, The shelter was set up to house the homeless in Fitchburg and Leominster. The majority of the residents are NOT homeless they are former patients from adcare in Worcester. The building that they are using was donated by the city of Fitchburg with the agreement that it would be used for the homeless, not addicts from adcare in Worcester. Staff are encouraged to take Adcare people first because as long as the bed is filled Our Fathers House is collecting monies from the state. This is how it happens, The staff start at 3 p.m. and Adcare patients start calling for a bed right away the doors to the shelter do not open until 4 p.m. so when a homeless person does come to the door for a bed they have already filled the spot with an Adcare patient. I loved my job and I think that if the shelter would operate in the manner that they are supposed to we would not see so many people living on the streets and we would not have so many addicts coming from Worcester.

I dont know who Emile is but know I know there are at least two other people that know the malfunctions going on at the shelter. A few years ago the state gave human service workers a retroactive raise there were only a few workers that qualified for this money. Well when it came around to the day that the agency was supposed to pay these employees Barbara, director of Our Fathers House, found a loophole. Any employee that was under disciplinary action would not qualify to receive the money that they worked very hard for, funny thing three out of four of the qualifying employees were pulled in and given written warnings the same day that they were expecting the overdue monies. Till this day there are still two of those former employees that have not received money that in my opinion was stolen from them. The other thing is that the guest lost a few good employees that actually cared about them. The entire time I was there the Director had never stepped onto the property and talking with others that had worked there longer stated that the Director had never been there to their knowledge. Last to make a request that will most likely be denied, find those hard working people and give them their money they earned it and there is no excuse for not paying them.
