O'Jays come home to Canton reunion

There are 2 comments on the Malcolm X Abram story from Aug 12, 2009, titled O'Jays come home to Canton reunion. In it, Malcolm X Abram reports that:

After more than 50 years, the O'Jays are winding down. Sure, the group still will perform throughout much of the summer, including gigs at the U.S. Open, three shows in South Africa and a show at small Miles College in Alabama in October, but the O'Jays' Walter Williams Sr.

hey, what's up with all the changes to the ojays websites featuring walter williams by himself as lead singer. Are the jays heading for splitville. I saw a advertisement on the jays sites saying that all of a sudden walter is the lead singer of group.I've been around for 36 yrs & Eddie Levert is the lead singer & always has been. is the group really breaking up? i buy the jays music & find this disappointing for guys that have been together for years as a group to break up because walter released a cd called expose (money is the root to all evil)eddie and eric hang in there god will see u through this storm.i still have love for walter, but this is lowdown & dirty. I will not buy any of walter williams music and defintely not a download.u r wrong dude ,when eddie was selling the book & cd for his son gerald levert ,i saw links on all the jays websites and 1 page to purchase the book & cd but never all this advertising, the same with eric grant ,i saw his page and listened to his music but never saw all these pictures and advertising to buy cds& downloads. every1 should boycott n stick together, donot support or purchase the download or cds ,start forcing our artists to remain as a group and advertise as a group not as a solo singer. The O'Jays have been a group for 50 years. They will never break up. If you are a true fan you would know from the start Walter Williams and Eddie have lead singers of the group (Lip stick Traces). As there career changed from the Mascots to the O'Jays Eddie and Walter together became lead singers of the group. listen to most of the songs that were major hits they have made Walter would start the tune and Eddie would finish. If you would ask Eddie or Walter who's the lead lead singer of the group, they would tell you they're both are. Now for Walter to create an album on his own there is nothing wrong with that. Eddie has created songs and albums with his son Gerald(Father and Son)they had publications throughout websites, video's tv commercials, but he still was with the O'Jays. Walter Williams wanted to do an album on his own of songs he always wanted to sing, there is nothing wrong with that. On his album he has a song with Eddie LeVert. If he was going solo, and did not want to be with the group, why would he have his best friend singing on a song with him? People need to stop negitive gossip until they know the facts. Eddie and Walter have been childhood friends, and will be friends till the end.
Another thing, if they were splitting up, and you so call Walter "Low Down and Dirty, why would they put that information on the O'Jays website. Eddie must be supporting Walter on his project to let this happen. Remember "They have a song together on his album". I bought the album, it is a nice album.
A for all the advertising on the website, Walter Williams needs all the pub.. he can get. Eddie LeVert has been a houshold name of the O'Jays cause he steps out talks on most interviews, and his Gerald also carried the name. So Walter is using the best way to promote his album. The O'Jays as a whole support him and always will. Stop it, Just stop it. The negetive talk sound like your just a hater. If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all. I say boycott your comment. How would you feel you work hard on something you love to do, and people start hating on you, and don't know the facts. stop hating.........
