Wow! I am going to the Black Expo next year to watch the "Shine Expo Hair Show" and I won't be watching the "hair fashions."

I like how they don't offer TalkBack in regards to the story of a the 16 yr girl shooting a gun off in the crowd.

Including, of course, "Teen fired shots into air early Sunday after Black Expo" headline. It appears, however, the public isn't allowed to post comments on THAT article.

There should be an 11-day annual event called "White Expo". No, not the country music expo or the state fair or any other cliche hackneyed theme or characterization... but, an actual event called "White Expo".

Only 1 incident of shooting! Pretty good! No one hurt; just some teenager having a fit...

Let's see how the Fire cracker 400 operates this weekend...
Will there be shootings, sex in the bleachers, pissing of the back of the trucks, or moonshine drinking on the top of trucks?

Let's see..

I noticed that too. That equates to the newspaper putting a gag on its readers. A bit like... "just read what we put in front of you, but no comments, please."

Are you sure this was a Hair show or was it a Ho show?

Right next to Praising and worshipping God there was Sodom and Gomorrah where hootchie momma's were exposing their boobs and butts?

My son and his girlfriend went downtown Saturday to celebrate an anniversary. When they tried to park in the state parking garage on Washington, a police officer told them they couldn't park there. Funny thing is, cars in front of and behind them WERE allowed. No explanation was given and the officer became belligerent when my son asked why other cars were allowed. The difference? The officer and occupants of the other cars were black, my son and his girlfried are white. Looks like discrimination is a two way street.

What is your problem! I like the Black Expo it is the only event in the CITY for african americans. We dont gripe when the 500 wrecks the west side. So don't complain when our group comes out. Jerk!

Awwww so what!! Did your son get profiled or pulled out his car like every black man in the state. So what if it was a minor inconveience.

Yes, and YOUR/OUR tax dollars fund that officer's wages.

There are alot of Authur (Trester award) Trester relatives out there that read the news on black events and issues for the sole reason to criticize and hate on black folks. Get a life

Yes... he was profiled... if, simply because he was white, he was disallowed the opportunity to park there. Had he challenged the matter further, yes, he would have likely been pulled out of his car. Racism is alive and well!

It was not just a minor inconvenience, as you put it. It was blatantly an act of racial discrimination. Let the day come when only whites are permitted to park somewhere, while the blacks are turned away, then the tune you're singing will likely change. These behaviors were allegedly left behind years ago. It is obvious the talk of how far racism in America has some is mostly a charade. This parking situation should have been "first come first served" and not determined by the color of the driver's skin. The officer should be fired as he very negatively represented the efforts of Indianapolis toward becoming a world class city.

I noticed that, too. I guess we should all be pleased that there was only one reported shooting this year insteas of last year's 5.

Did your son record the time, badge number, etc... This case would be a slam dunk discrimination.

WTF is a hair show? Please tell me there is more involved than doing your hair in some outrageous, over the top "do". Why not have a professionals show and teach people how to dress for an interview and be professional?
