I do share some of the sentiments expressed by Mr. Kot dealing with Nas' shortcomings on new album. I myself am a fan of Nas, and I do commend him for atleast providing listeners an alternative brand of Hip Hop not found with many of the artists today. I'd rather an artist raise awareness on issues and go against the grain, than consistantly make records that evoke no thought or positivity. Nas makes music that he himself likes, and I believe he carries the mentality that he does not care what critics think. It has to be an accomplishment to make authentic music from your soul and still manage to go Gold, especially in Rap music. I commend Nas, and I hope he brings more material in the future.

I like the new Nas album because it was all most like he was talking to me. I feel the energy and the point that he was trying to bring across to sociaty at large. Just listening to the track "America" and you'll see what I am talking about. I guess many people was expecting him to come with a lot of anger but he did other wise. That just how Nas do is thing, not giving you what you expect, just to show his growth as a Rapper.

Im feelin the new album. It's true that some of the production on the more intense songs could be a little better, but Nas still pulls them off if you're actually listening to the lyrics. Chris Brown and Game ruin the one track but besides that this CD is a taste of what hiphop really needs. I can't even big to explain how much better this is than the last Kanye, 50 & Wayne CDs. Insulted that you made that comparison. Nas is a little bit of a drama queen but compared to those 3 these days, it's not even close. I'm actually pickin this CD up.
