I will sleep well tonight and not worry going into 2009 knowing these people are in charge. Chris Dodd has no shame, this clown represents all that is wrong with our elected officials.

Shovel ready means permits must be in place???!!! She has got to be kidding me. Gov. Rell better tell DEP to get off their fat asses and approve permits at an emergency rate not take 18-24 months to do their job.

Wonderful. Our RINO governor has now made it official: by standing shoulder-to-shoudler, she's become a full-fledged New Deal II Democrat. This stimulus package being touted by the Dem's is not the solutiuon to our economic crisis, it will only prolong the problem and increase our dependency on the federal teat as we print money and increase debt in the process. It's obvious that the Democrats learned nothing from the debacle of the Great Depression when Roosevelt prolonged the crisis by seven years with his New (Raw) Deal largesse. Obama's stimulus 'cure' will be worse than the disease. Many generations to come will pay for this folly as Wall Street bankers (thanks to Robt. Rubin and his friend Henry Paulson - both card-carrying Democrats BTW) and currency traders like Soros greedily take their cut.

lets remind ourselves of how we got into this whole economic storm were in. one word: DEBT. everyone bought houses they could never afford. stop blaming banks, no one held a gun to anyone's head and say sign it. buying a house is making the largest purchase in your life and if you don' read the fine print thats your problem and your fault. shame on you.

well what in the world could the solution be???
MORE DEBT??? INSANITY COMES TO MY MIND

since when is adding more debt more inflation the answer. tell me where were getting this money from again. The US is like a drug addict and china/asia is the supplier. instead of drugs its money.

California has announced that instead of paying tax refunds to people who overpay, they will be sending out "IOU's" this year. I am not making this up.

How long before the same thing happens in CT? Our leaders' idea to turn around the economy is to go begging.

This is a selfish money grab by the Congress.

Highway projects need to be included in any stimulus plan. The normal permitting process needs to be bypassed by the legislature so that people can be put to work.

Pork, pork and more pork. With a Democrat-controlled Congress and an avowed Marxist in the White House, we're headed down the road to socialism and will be knocking on the door of full-fledged communism by the time the 2012 election cycle comes around.
