Plainfield's Garry Shider jumped at the chance to join P-Funk

Even though Garry Shider had performed with some of the greats of gospel like The Five Blind Boys and The Mighty Clouds of Joy and he was in his own band, United Soul, with Cordell 'Boogie'' Mosson, he knew where he eventually wanted to be.
