Nice try, but as we say in Texas, "big hat, no cattle." El Paso businessman Artemio De La Vega thinks the blighted, shuttered Farah site along Interstate 10 should be a mixed-use center, not the intended big ...

hey patriot, give it up you idiot!!!
Who's the idiot? I'm informing you of the repercussions to your taxes, and to the local economy / infrastructure if a mall is built in place of Foster's Folly. Let Foster and his business partners raze the site. Your money doesn't need to be used for private purposes. There's too much of that going on by Cook himself as it is.

Quit talking out of your ass. Paul Foster bought the Farrah Building and INTENTIONALLY left it dormant to get a tax write-off. When Simon came along to build on it, they had a MUCH better plan than Regency, and FOSTER dicked that deal up by trying to make off like a bandit. The city didn't even get the chance to get involved with that. Now Paul Foster, a man who has millions to throw away, wants the tax payers to pay to raze HIS personal property because it's not the tax shelter he bought it for after he had it appraised at ten times his buying price. Sorry, but the rich frack can raze his own damned personal property. Tax payers should not have to clean up Foster's Folly for him.
As for building a mall there, it's asanine, and if the plan goes through, all that'll happen is stores will close in one location, and open at the new one. No salaries will go up, no extra jobs will be created... and we'll prove even more that it's useless to have an interstate through El Paso because I-10 and Hawking will be backed up further and for longer periods of time.
_Arrr, you only have your wallet in mind, not what's best for El Paso. Again, STFU and let El Paso tax payers take care of El Paso, not crooked politicians and uber wealthy businessmen who want to use our money to make theirs.
God damn! you are an "Idiot" I wont call you a patriot because that name does not fit you,so what was Foster suppose to do, open up another garment factory??? you dumb ass, I hope you dont wear a military uniform because I would'nt want you representing anything that has to do with the US of A, I dont even think your fit to sell girl scout cookies.
Yet you are not even a native to the sun city you were not born there probably just passing by and posting as some wannabe bad ass.
Yet you want attention to your ideas because you call yourself a patriot, maybe a patriot to your own cause obviously you dont give a shit about anything unless it suits your lifestyle or beliefs.
This guy Foster whom you seem to hate because he has mega bucks bothers your way of thinking, you would prefare that El paso just sit there for centuries and look like crap.
The good news is that you are out numbered in your way of thinking, then you claim this ridiculous claim about traffic been backed up, traffic is backed up in every large American city and El Paso is no exception, I remember when they built that stupid freeway, you still did'nt exist but it took a very long time to get where it is today, I could walk across I10 at one time and not worry about gettin hit by a car even my dogs could trot across the freeway as well, but that was then.
You dont have nothing to offer other than your just a hanky panky white boy who thinks you know it all, WELL YOU DONT.
So the moral of the story was, the missle is a pissy wissy DUD.

You certainly did.

I don't dislike Paul Foster because of his money. I dislike that he has so much, and EXCPECTS El Paso tax payers to pick up his tab. The man isn't JFK. He's another rich guy who wants to get even more rich without spending his own money, and he intends to do that by abusing the El Paso tax payers.

Every large city has traffic problems, yes... but every large city ahs traffic problems on their interstates ONLY during rush hour. Not, on weekends. That's why I-10 is ineffective through El Paso. As I've stated before, yet another mall with barely a couple of hundred minimum wage jobs is asanine in this city. There're store fronts that are sitting empty all over the city already. There's no need to make anymore, let alone strip those that already exist of stores. You want to know what makes the economy look even worse? Closed stores all over the place. The Farrah site needs to become something that is either UNIQUE or a true benefit to the economy. I don't give a damn about how much money YOU stand to lose. I care about seeing better QUALITY jobs (as in white collar, corporate, jobs that have good salaries) in El Paso. You are the one holding El Paso back by insisting on another cookie cutter, minimum wage producing mall. Your thinking is what has businesses across the nation believing that El Paso is only good for manual labor and servitude.

I think the mixed use plan has the most merit. Anyone with a half an ounce of brains couls see that. I mean a 2nd grader would approve of it. Scratch that, a Kindergartener . I have personally spoken with young children with better business sense and more entrepenurial spirit than some so called businessmen. Why is there so muuch money in the hands of tired worn out ideamen with no real ideas. Also where did Dale Carnegie go. his spirit. I stay as far away from big money people as possible a la Rush Limbaugh. Who in their remotist imagination would want to be associated with a huge floating blimp filled with hot air. And I am no liberal fer sure.
