"Now the whole group of those who believed was of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common. With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold. They laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need." [Acts of the Apostles, 4:32-35]

Nice article....

If we think about it today, and in terms of how the jews of that time managed their own family, community and temple lives, we can see how the Early Church communities saw themselves as families.

Today, in my own household, inside the doorway and looking out through the picture window, we operate a dictatorship with socialist underpinnings.

But, once any of us exits through that door, we have been taught by this very socialist dictatorship to function as self-initializing, enterprising individuals, in support of capital trade for the distribution of goods and services relative to competitive demand.

That is the way it works.

For a reference to this system in the Teachings of Jesus, consider the parable of the talents.

I say these things, not for your benefit, because I know that you know and understand. But, for the benefit of those who have not been able to place the value of our Constitution and system of laissez-faire capitalism into proper perspective with the Two Great Commandments.

The 'SOCK PUPPET' agrees with both of your comments. How ever did these words get past that Papal Curia?

Of course they all thought that the End Times were going to happen at any minute. There are certainly any number of ‘His Followers’ that are still falling for that story as if it were a breaking news.

From the article:

But let us take a look at the description of how the early Christians lived:

"Now the whole group of those who believed was of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common. With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
