As for Native culture here in Pre and Post Columbian North America in some cases constantly changing, evolving or mixing. True alot of it has to do with geographical location along with adaptation.
Take the different subtribes or bands that make up the Apache. Some like the Chiricahua and White Mountain are arid desert or upland dwellers, where bands such as the Lipan and Kiowa Apache lived upon the grasslands and had adopted the Plains Culture.
The Siouan Osage and Kansa although speaking a language similar to the Lakota, were of a Woodland Culture who once lived in the Western Ohio River Valley.
The Bands of the Cherokee are an Iroquoian People speaking a language and sharing aspects of culture associated with the Mohawk,Seneca, Erie and Huron, yet settled among and adopted much of the same way of life as say the Creeks or other South Eastern Tribes as did some septs or bands of the Shawnee who once had their people spread out from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, West to the Prairies of Western Illinois and Southward to Florida, yet always having a core area in the Ohio Country.
Some people move around and tinge with other cultures and languages.
