The discussion on Pinter's "Birthday Party"is quite satisfying and covers most of the relevent issues in a nutshell. But the roles played by the two out-siders, Goldberg and Mccann, are not clearly stated. The hostility of the world outside the warm, cosy residence of the inhabitants,is a issue that demands attention. Not only 'Birthday Party',but most of the plays of Pinter bring into focus this issue.
