Fantastic!!! Hope this becomes commonplace. Back to the good music -- with words you can understand.

I bought a phonograph console. Now I can understand the words when I want in the family room. I even transcribed some up on this Bakelite tele-typewriter. Bee's Knees!

"We'll be playing swing, Latin and jazz, with some new arrangements,"

Including arrangements of Bacharach, Lennon-McCartney tunes.

Hope "Norwegian Wood" is an instrumental. "She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh. I told her I didn't and crawled up to sleep in the bath. So I lit a fire isn't it good? Norwegian Wood." What's that all about?

I enjoy Big Band era music too. I support people supporting live music and having a good time. I just think ( way too much) that one or two good popular songs with words you can understand have been written since 1955. As do the musicians performing at the Flick judging by the program

Glenn Miller, Harry James, Benny Goodman, and the list goes long. Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, and many others sang songs with words you could follow and understand. Then rap came along and everything changed to crap.

I hate rap. I like the Big Band sound. Oh here you might like this. has an "Epic" sort of sound, not Its a fun music video to watch too. Not a big band sound but very nice music(watch the Kid's expressions they are priceless):

Then this is a Piano Cello version of Coldplays "Viva La Vida"

And this is the Original:

"Then Rap came along?" There must be at least 30 year gap there. Most kids wern't digging Ira Gerswin's turns of poesy during the Summer of Love.

I don't care for Gangsta Rap as a sub-genre to be specific, but it is primarily because I CAN understand the lyrics when those that brandish it in their cars are so eager to share. In that I guess that I am senior too.

No, not racist, just don't like the noise they create. I'll stick to my 4,000 LPs' and an overworked turntable.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Libra

Instead of retreating into your own little world, get out there and spread some love and joy to all those around you. Be sure to pay close attention to the things that make others truly happy - often it can be the simplest of things. Libra is the most sociable sign in the Zodiac and you'll be in your element at the moment. You don't need to go overboard, though, and pick up everyone else's tab!
