as far as one of their officially released songs, it can't be. if it is the beatles it could be a bootleg.most likely it's not the beatles. who put out the beatles documentary? apple has only authorized the beatles anthology, and they decide who can use the beatles songs, jackson owns the copyrights, but not the actual recordings. most likely it's a house band.

it may be a cover, something they recorded for the BBC perhaps. have you googled some of the lyrics? it may bring up the song if you do. or look up the video - it may have a list of soundtrack credits.

Yes. Amazing. I saw the footage as well on google video. Go to google click the video link, type in three quotes:
"the beatles" "apple" " google.com ", and you'll get it on top. There's a really nice, haunting song that has "in spite of all the danger" as part of the lyrical make up, but it's definitely not the beatles '59 recording of it. It's also not casting my spell. It got a Beatles '63 or '64 sound. The vocalist sounds a lot like Lennon. My personal opinion is that it isn't the Beatles, but damn it sounds so much like them, especially the instrumentation. I too, have gone on various search engines and nothing comes up.

Damn.. was hopin someone knew... been goin crazy to track this song down... I agree not the Beatles but a good song none the less... could be from Brit invasion period... or maybe not just some really good cover group/studio guys... consider That Thing You Do by the Wonders.

I agree with Alex. It sounds like them, the singer imitates John's singing features, but listening carefully I concluded that it's not the Beatles. I have to find which group is and the title. I'll let you know when I catch up with something.

let's hope paul reads these pages too
and do you all remember GROW OLD WITH ME
i wrote a song along the same lines when i was 28, just after lennon was murdered
and my blood ran cold when i heard it on a lennon bootleg, and now only my sister is proof that i had written it before i had ever heard john's version
LONG GONE is another of those lennon things
