I agree, that Jim Croce was a great songwriter/musician/artist. But I would have to disagree about She Loves You, it's just one of those songs that i never get tired of hearing it.

that is quite unfortunate. that is the definitive beatles blockbuster chart topping hit record, that defined a musical revolution.

from the unsymmetrical structure to the closing G6 chord, a Harrison innovation, there is alot to like about this song.

She loves You became a hit 6 hours after it was wrote and recorded. Not one of the best Beatle songs but still at the time fans loved it and Radio played the heck out of it yeah yeah yeah.

Johnny Rivers was good. He is sort of forgotten about now a days. From 1964 to 1968 he was well known with several hits. Poor side of Town and Mountain of Love both huge hits for Johnny.

I would also much rather listen to Anne Murray's
Snowbird From 1970.

I would also much rather listen to The Camp Kookamonga song by Homer and Jethro From 1959.

It's too bad not many people listen to these songs.

You do know you're on a Beatles forum, right? You're not going to find very many people here, who think a crappy Prince song is better than She Loves You, or any other Beatle song for that matter.

No.... it's not ok Jason.
Prince is not well respected in Mexico, he has spoken very unkind racial remarks about our country, so no, it is NOT ok.
Prince is CRAP.

Prince likes The Beatles.

Ok, his career is not on fire but Prince is cool.

He still knows how to play guitar.

Prince did an awesome, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

Tom Petty on vocals.

It was a tribute for George Harrison.

Prince is a fantastic musician.

You're right, Prince is a great musician, I'll give him his props for that. I even like a couple of his songs, but When Doves Cry is not one of them.

Not true.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/She_Loves_You

"Lennon and McCartney had started composing "She Loves You" after a 26 June 1963 concert at the Majestic Ballroom in Newcastle upon Tyne during their tour with Roy Orbison and Gerry and the Pacemakers."

"The song was recorded on 1 July 1963, less than a week after it was written."

"On 23 August 1963, the "She Loves You" single was released in the United Kingdom with "I'll Get You" as the B-side."
