I not only remember Led Zeppelin but Jim Morrison and the Doors. I lived right across the street in which my bedroom balcony faced the Ice Palace. I was sixteen. I saw the Beatles in 64' at the convention center, Rare Earth, Chicago, and if my memory is correct, I believe I saw Jethro Tull. My mom worked at Coca Cola and obtain one comped seat for the Beatles. Couldn't hear a word with all the screaming. I might still have the Beatles Boots some where. They were so pointed there were hard to wear.

I was in the convention Center on August 20, 1964, when the Beatles played. I have been trying to find a listing of who was on the program. As I remember it was an incredible assembly of rock n roll greats, including a young group of beach boys. Any suggestions how I can get a list of who all played that night?
The Opening act, when we got there was Dusty Springfield! Hope that helps.

To Rancho '63, I stand corrected. It WAS
Jackie De Shannon, As I said we were late,
and the screaming had already begun...My

I was there too with my best friend Emily. We were both 12. I only remember Jackie DeShannon but every act got booed. Can't believe I booed the Righteous Bros. but I don't remember them, but I am sorry to say Emily and I booed all of the opening acts right along with everyone else. We had great seats left side as you faced the stage (on Paul and Georege's microphone side) and only about 10 rows back. As I remember they opened with Twist and Shout which really surprised me, as I thought they would end with it as I had read regarding other concerts. We screamed our brains out and cried. Just to see Paul rock his bass guitar back and forth on She Loves You was the thrill of a lifetime. Surely my fondest memory of growing up in Las Vegas.

I was also at the afternoon performance of the Beatles on 8-20-1964!! It's so cool finding a few others that got to experience that day. Rancho63, the Righteous Brothers were the warm up band. I don't remember Jackie De Shannon, but it doesn't really matter. The most important thing about that day was...We got to see the Beatles!! Wasn't it great? We got to stay at the Sahara hotel too. Early the next morning after the concert we found the back service entrance where the Beatles were going to come out and get in their limo's to leave for the airport. It was so fun seeing them that close. Our seats at the concert were almost at the back of the hall, but we, my Beatle Pal Susie and me, were right there on the front line of crowds of girls and boys waiting to get a glimpse of them as they ran down the little steps, waved to the crowd that had been waiting since 6:30 in the morning, and jumped into the limo's and away they went!! I remember it all like it was "Yesterday"!
Wow I am so Happy your story and that there were so many of you left do you remember all the girls throwing jelly beans! Well i never thought 50 years later I would be working for them at LOVE. Tomorrow's press conference at convention center will be a Hoot!! My sister and I spent the night in front of the box office to get tickets on the 29th the same day the Beach Boys played at the convention center!

No, Jackie DeShannon was one of the opening acts also. The only ones I remember were she and the Righteous Brothers (who were great).

We were at the afternoon concert of the Beatles at the Las Vegas Convention Cener on August 20, 1964. I was 15 and my brother was 12. Our family was on vacation in Las Vegas and the day before the concert my dad went over to the Convention Center and they were only selling tickets in the lots they had left. So, my mom, brother and I go 4th row seats. Love seeing Jackie DeShannon and the wonderful Righteous Brothers before the Beatles It was a great concert. Does anyone have any photos they can share or know where I can go online to find videos or photos? Thanks! Linda
