Hmm, let's see, shall we?

First heart transplant, black box flight recorders, the bionic ear to name but three.

The heart pacemaker, sunblock cream, the ultrasound, flu vaccine, the first microsurgery to name some more.

Oh, and you remember the film of the moon landing in 1969?

The footage was captured by an Australian observatory, and beamed around the world. Not from the US.

Australia is far more advanced medically and in the scientific field than the US.

Australia:

First pre-paid postage.

First women given the right to vote.

First featured length film.

First refrigeration plant.

First teleprinter, aspirin, permanent creases, round the world airline service, reading machine for the blind.

Elvis once ruled. He is the most impersonated of all entertainers.Far exceeds Michael Jackson. Maybe even outsold the Beatles in record sales but as far as Popularity They equal Elvis only a different 60's type of music listeners. Elvis has the 50's and 60's and so on but I only hear his music on oldies stations. Classic Rock stations don't play Elvis but I do hear The Beatles now and then. Elvis gets grouped with Chuck Berry and Fats Domino and Little Richard even though he was much more popular than them .Both Elvis and the Beatles music will live on because it was good and the memories were good. Elvis and Marilyn Monroe will always be the most glamourus movie stars to ever be on the big screen. The Beatles were never movie stars only cool musicians in a great band.

Thank the heavens for music! It helps us to forget about our problems and how messed up the world is and brings a smile to our faces. Where would we be without it, right?

That is too bad that you feel that way, Jim.

But as a citizen, I have the right to express my views on Obama.

He is by far the worst president I've seen in my lifetime.

It also seems that some are afraid to criticize his policies.

That is one of the reasons that he is getting all he wants.

All the extra programs and taxes cost everyone more money monthly.

Gas prices, food, insurance, medical care, rent and other expenses.

Maine is fairly low on what they can tax because its mostly forest.

Nobody wants to live there.

However, NY has New York City, which is affecting everyone upstate.

I feel the bite every time I go out or have to pay a bill.

It is just the way it is going now.

Obama being black doesn't exactly make him a great president.

I certainly blame him for the high cost of living.

Elvis is a collector's artist. He will always rule to Elvis fans.

Same with The Beatles with their die hard fans.

I don't hear The Beatles being played as much anymore on radio.

So, Elvis and The Beatles are in the same boat.

Who really cares?

Over exposure happens to hurt a classic artist.

People can seek them out themselves.

It the mystery of discovery and at the same time, both are legends.

They can sell without radio play. It doesn't seem to matter.

Who else does that?

Marilyn Monroe is everywhere in popular culture.

And she wasn't rock but apparently, she remains an ongoing legend.

Her musicals and films don't need to be played.

It is her classic image.

How can I be a dumb ass when all I'm doing is criticizing Obama?

He wants socialism and wants everybody to pay the same.

It does not support the expansion of business to make profits.

Therefore, they downsize and neglect hiring new people.

Welfare heads are usually lazy people that do not want to work.

They do their drugs and have kids they can not afford.

Why should they be a burden to the rest of us because they mess up?

I never had a bleeding heart for any of them.

If someone was stupid enough to be a criminal, why hire them?

They very rarely change.

They blame everybody for their problems because they are losers.

Who the hell would want anything to do with a low life?

They repeat the same shit over and over again.

<quoted text>I have to agree with you Octo. Welfare seems to breed Welfare. Lots of losers on Welfare. Lots of people on Welfare that haven't even been in our country for more than two years. It seems an easy handout for many who don't deserve it. Obama hasn't got any control with spending tax payers money. In 4 years many will change their opinion of his crappy way of getting things done.IO don't know if Romney would of been better but I do know he couldn't of done any worse than the joker we now have for a President. Obama sucks and I don't care who says he's good. Reality is everything has gone up thanks to his stupid ways of digging us deeper into debt.Any way I hope some good new music comes out this year to help us forget about the mess we have with Obama being in charge the last 4 years and the next 4 years.
What short memories people have, especially when finding things to complain about with the opposing party.

Apparently you have chosen to forget that much of Obama's current problems came with the legacy of the Bush administration, the same administration who, with the rest of the Republicans,(including Romney) were more than happy to outsource jobs to China and India and were just as happy to provide such businesses with tax breaks and nice little tax havens for rich people.

Most of what's going on now are bispartisan issues; things which BOTH parties have contributed to and participated in over many years, even decades, and things aren't about to change overnight, especially when it involves filthy rich people who absolutely DON"T want things to change.

Elvis needs radio play to be popular. Marilyn Monroe is an icon, but that's all, and I don't think that's enough for Elvis. People know Marilyn Monroe's name and face, but they do not know here work, because her movies are seldom played. They just know her name and face. Elvis is becoming the same way. Everyone knows his NAME, some know his face, but they don't know how great he was because they seldom if ever hear his music.

Being popular and being an icon are not the same.

Octo, how many people do you actually KNOW who have been on welfare for a long time? They are on it because they get stuck on it, because a gap in their work record keeps them out of the work force. The longer they are unemployed, the harder it is to find a job. If it gets long enough that the places they worked are gone, they can NEVER get back into the work force.

You must be crazy to think anyone would want to live the way people on welfare have to live! I'ts a myth! No one would want to live like that! There IS NO easy street on welfare!!

As far as foreigners getting on it, I agree with you.

Elvis IS popular, you moron, and still earns millions each year: 60 million in 2012 alone.

600,000 visit Graceland every year.

The most popular musical icon in history.

Elvis will not - and SHOULD NOT - be played on today's radio, aside from oldies stations.

It's 2013, the era does not belong to him and his colleagues.

You're such a hypocrite ... you won't go to Graceland or buy CDs because it puts money into the hands of EPE. And what exactly are YOU doing to perpetuate his legacy then?

Answer: sweet fck all!
