Hartford Courant, wake up. Is a car show really bigger news than the President-elect's announcement of a job creation program? Maybe the Courant has laid off too many employees---or the wrong ones!

The heck with the Big 3 auto executives. Do you realize the fancy lifestyle you can get being an assembly line worker? 80 bucks an hour as a machinist is not chump change. Plus there is no unpaid overtime, free health insurance and a generous pension. Now, people who get less than that are expected to pay more in taxes so those thousands of everyday people can continune to get more than you do.
Also, when the Democrats become so patriotic about "GM represents the pride we have as Americans." All I hear from Democrats is we are no greater than anyone else, that this is a global economy, and we must share what we have with others and take no more than others. If a foreign auto maker makes a better car, isn't it actually good that they are advancing. That is spreading the wealth globally. They have no problem with illegal aliens who contribute nothing getting American-paid-for benefits. Why not give some of that American-earned capital to Hans teh BMW maker, Yoko the Honda worker, or Sven the Volvo maker. I would rather buy a better made car from a foreign nature than simply give them a handout through the United Nations.

I hope this fiasco puts the UAW out of business. Nothing but a bunch of greedy, lazy workers who cared nothing about the quality and pride they put into their jobs. They are the reason for the downfall of the Big Three.

What an ****.
no, the uaw members average over 100K in pay & bennies BEFORE overtime. Then look at all the toyotas in the parking lot where they make the chevys and rethink your position.

Where the hell do get your numbers from? I have worked for Chrysler 15 years with TONS of OT (@ 3000 hrs/yr & never made more than $65K/yr even if you added $20K/yr in bennies is no where even close to your figures.

Someone has blown major smoke up your ass. Maybe you watch too much television, because you are right, if I did make $100K + I too would be bitching. Ask a few others around on this forum.

You see when we did work OT, our taxes were withheld at 30%, do the math. I have never expected "Golden Arches", just a fair wage for a day of hard work, yeah there are some workers who just screw off, but there were many more workers that made up for the others. I always took a high level of pride in my job, I was also a customer.

I hope you wake up soon from your Republican stupor, behind your rose colored glasses lies an informed idiot. Have a great day, LOSER!

I don't like the band 'Oasis.' Those brothers just seem like such jerks.

I'm gonna go call Steve.
