If anybody working at Nocturnum for this concert sees Willis and Arnold Jackson at this concert, please send them home at their 11 pm curfew. They have been running around the city late at night and I get very worried. Thank you.

this is so full of racism why would anybody want to go? what a WASTE of space on the TS.

NO more stories like this, purely disquiting.

Thad you have lost credibility in my eyes for this piece.

NOBODY needs this.

"His sophomore effort,“Sleeping with the Enemy,” was poised for release in 1992, until Time Warner apparently took the time to actually listen to the album, finding fantastical tales of assassinating then-president George H.W. Bush and racist police officers. The record label quickly dumped the project, and Paris released it later the same year on his own newly formed label."

Great.

First, the Times Standard is publicizing this event in, I guess what was one OH's Townhouse where OH Bass celebrated everything good in the community.

And then the Times Standard has the gall to publish this person's "talent"?

What a pathetic example of a newspaper.

Thad,

I can't believe you got this into the T-S -- congratulations. It will be a sad day for T-S readers when you move on up to bigger and better things. We now return to Jessie Faulkner's transcription of local gasbags and John Driscoll's award winning essays from third grade English class.

That's great and all for hip hop fans, but I'm unclear how this qualifies as 'news'

You think anyone that would go see this crap actually reads anything, let alone a newspaper?
Not likely. Social justice? Code words for more welfare.

Has anyone here ever even listed to Talib Kweli? The bots of the TS boards are making fools of themselves again, ignorance filled with hate. Talib's message and lyrics rise above the status quo in so many ways, you have no idea. Listen to Quality sometime, with the hilarious and thought provoking intro by none other than Dave Chapelle. For those interested in seeking the truth, you can read lyrics to all the tracks on Talib's album "Quality" here. http://www.metrolyrics.com/quality-album-tali...

HA HA! Nothing better than the eloquent key-strokes of scared white folks. Better to have the likes of Kenny Rogers grace the stage. After all he has been in movies where he stands with a Sheet-eating grin as he mows down crowds of Mexican soldies. But that's OK 'cause he's white. Get over yourselves people, if you don't like it don't go.

can tell by the cliche names and song titles. Keep you child away. You are in trouble if your child wears his pants around his knees, and a coat for the arctic 7 sizes too big.(that's to hide glock and 8ball)
Tad you did a fabulus job on this artical. Now we know why your head is up your punkhole. Your a wannbe banger.
I'm not familiar with the other artists, but Paris is not a "gangsta-rapper". He's a political activist that uses hip-hop as his platform. Same as Immortal Technique and the like.

I don't suppose you noticed the opening paragraph that tells you to leave your bling and pimp-cups at home? That's because this isn't typical rap- it's REAL rap by REAL people.

Hell, my favorite music genres are rock'n'roll (of the Stones and Doors variety) and modern metal and I'll still be going to this show just because Paris is BRILLIANT.

Your racism is so thick you could cut it with a knife. If you hate blacks so much just say so, as you certainly imply it by associating the average young black male's fashion tastes with "hiding Glocks and 8-balls"

The paper did contact The Works and the info relayed from them was Talib was playing the show, as did other sources involved with the show. Note the news release being referred to is dated today, after the paper had gone to print.
Info about the show which may still be on and who will be playing is still developing. We'll post more info as it becomes available.
