CSO + Ravinia + video screens = a mixed debut

There are 1 comment on the Chicago Tribune story from Jul 8, 2009, titled CSO + Ravinia + video screens = a mixed debut. In it, Chicago Tribune reports that:

Much as many longtime concertgoers would object, we all must accept the fact that electronic technology is turning classical music into an experience as much visual as aural, as has long been the case with pop music.

I agree about the screens at the concert. I found them very annoying from my seat in the center of the Pavilion. I love technology as much as the next guy, and have the tech toys to prove it, but the quick cuts became distracting and repetitive. I think I might not find it so annoying at a rock concert. And I attended a pop concert on the lawn last month which included the large lawn screen, which I really liked because I felt more connected to the music.
