Jobs Ministry Southwest Announces Job Seeker Services
Getting ahead of the curve searching for new employment opportunity in today’s market is tough. People between jobs or looking for better employment opportunities can turn to Jobs Ministry Southwest for training, coaching, and resources to enhance their search.
Sugar Land, TX, January 2, 2009 – Changes in the current job market are driving candidates to look for new ideas in organizing their job search. Jobs Search Ministry Southwest (JMS) has been created for just that purpose.
JMS hosts weekly meetings that cover job search training, networking opportunities, faith based encouragement, and accountability during the search.“Job transition is one of the most traumatic events in someone’s life” says Doug Thorpe, Founder and Executive Director.“We help people with the ‘shock and awe’ of having to be in transition. More importantly, we are building a process to connect the job seeker with area employers and recruiters. By aggressively reaching out to area businesses, we can identify first hand where the opportunities exist.” Candidates participating in JMS are better equipped to present a value statement to a potential employer.
The response has been positive. Since last August JMS opened for its first meeting, over 200 job seekers have come through the doors. Thirty percent of these have already landed jobs. This is significant when you consider the higher job classifications among the current participants.
