Mahalo, Keola, for your "pono" stance. I applaud you and look forward to more of your musical efforts. This album is great but truly not fully Hawaiian. BUT, great that the Hawaiian touch could transform other works!

Wow. Keola sounds like a really great person. Great family, too. I wish somebody like this would run for office.

Sorry for the delayed response. As a musician that plays many genres of music, including traditional Hawaiian, i applaud Uncle Keola for taking this stand on a controversial topic within the Hawaiian musical community.

there is definitely something that needs to be done to correct the current process of nominations to the Hawaiian music category designed by the Grammy's. To make a call for more categories is one thing, but what is really needed is more involvement by informed individuals.

Perhaps Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) should assist by offering a dual membership package to those who are interested in joining both. Currently you have join HARA and the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Recording Academy separately.

I do hope a better process comes to fruition soon. it seems as though a lot of Slack Key carbon copy cd's are being produced strictly for the purpose of winning the award, rather than emphasizing music that is truly Hawaiian.

EXCELLENT POINT THEY CAN GIVE IT TO DANIEL HO AGAIN.

BY THE WAY, SINCE TIA IS UP FOR THE AWARD TOO, SHE IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO HAS BEEN ON DANCING WITH THE STARS AND DID NOT BOUNCE OR GET ANY WORK FROM IT.

FUNNY SHE DID SOME PILOTS RIGHT AFTER AND NONE WERE PICKED UP.
