In the late 1950's I was a DJ at KEVE, "The Golden Voice of Golden Valley," and working alone on a Sunday afternoon. While reading a commercial, I heard the door to the studio open. I paused and turned to see who it was. As I sat at the microphone, the studio door was behind me. To my surprise, it was Stonewall Jackson and Marvin Rainwater. They were driving by the station and decided to stop in. I said something like, "Folks, you're not going to believe it, but we have two of the biggest stars of country music here in the studio..." I started asking the guys questions and neither of them would say a thing. In desperation, I started playing a record. As soon as the mic was off, they both started laughing at my embarrassment. I never did get them to say anything on the air and after chatting a minute or two, they got back in their car and drove off.

Jackson is a lowlife...his "Welfare Cadillac" song is really appalling.
