Don Cornelius took 'Soul Train' on pioneering trip

There are 7 comments on the York Dispatch story from Feb 1, 2012, titled Don Cornelius took 'Soul Train' on pioneering trip. In it, York Dispatch reports that:

In an era when Beyonce and Jay-Z are music royalty, when Barack Obama is the nation's chief executive, and when black stars in the cast of a TV show are commonplace, it may be hard to grasp the magnitude of what Don Cornelius created once he got his "Soul Train" rolling.

I was just watching it this morning...the older versions, as I worked out...

And I noticed how much thinner the general public was back then...

Thin and Tall and lean...

The blck population back like the 70's, was thinner, taller, and way more fit or lean....

At least I get that impression when looking at Soul Train...

Which reflects diet...sugar, and preservatives...
Back then I think more people still ate home cooked meals...

Where as today, even home cooked meals are pre-cooked or pre-prepared...

I also noticed the male dancers, in those Soul Train shows, were much more creative with their style and dress...almost hippie urban hippie style or something...

A lot of the clothing and dress the male dancers wore in those videos, today, by most, would be considerd 'gayish'...

But I applaud those guys from back then...cause they were 'free'...and hadn't yet fallen under the 'hip-hop' spell or chains...

Where to be a guy means you have to walk around dressed gutter and primitave like a caveman or street style...and look mean all the time...

Soul Train occured in an era before Hip hop destroyed the creativity in the urban communities...and a time when people still dreamed of better things...

Back then, the males were as creative and colorful with their style and dress, as females were...

It amazes me how so much has been 'feminized' over the years...

Which leaves males less and less room to explore 'self'...

Posters who bring their own sour baggage when responding, annoy me...

It's like they look for issues, where there are none...

And are to blind with their own something, to see that All 3 of my first posts were actually complimenting how things were back then...

Just goes to show how hard it is to communicate with some...cause they don't listen...they just don't take time to listen...and instead bring their own personal issues to every room they enter...
