That's just someone's opinion!! Are they mind readers??? Very doubtful. Do they really know more than the fans? Has there been a study done with statistical information that proves to this effect? If so, please print that!! I feel sometimes music just doesn't always fit into a certain catagory, there are shades of gray, and probably alot more shades of gray out there than we think. I've heard music that I could not even try to catagorize.

Oops! I did not mean to sound harsh on your opinion Wade about the term alt-country. I do agree the NYT's article sounds a little "uppitty,"(pardon the pun).
