The fact is folks, that as an artist, you tend to sound like who influenced you the most. I think it's wrong to attack Miranda Lambert for "ripping off" Steve Earle, as you all put it. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Steve. Especially Snake Oil, but listen to some of Steve's stuff and compare it to who influenced him the most. I love the lyrics to 'Kerosene.' I think the lyrics are at least heart felt, and the same goes for 'Feel Alright.' That's just the way the music industry operates. It's all been done before. But give credit where credit is due instead of simply attacking a country artist for a kick-ass song. Whether the song was stolen or not-I've heard differently from a friend of mine named Montey Powell-Miranda wrote a good song. I've heard that she co-wrote the song along with Steve. I don't know where you people get your information, but some of it is, simply put, being misinformed and misinterpreted.

Steve Earle deserves to be ripped off. Anyone man thay doesn't have anything to do with some of his children but tries to be father of the year to the ones he decides to claim deserves whatever he gets. by the way he now has 2 granddaughters he doesn't have anything to do with as well just sayin

hello my friend, you are right, Lambert's stuff seems to come right from Steve Earle, who I have also loved for 20 yrs, he's a great inspiration to me not only for his incredible music, but his sobriety, i am a recovery addict/alcoholic with 11 months clean, it's been my "ghetto" time like Steve had...
as far as I know, Lambert didn't have okay from anyone to write this song...i could be wrong because i am wrong a lot....copy all they will though, no one will ever touch Steve Earle's music and beautiful talent...
God bless Steve...
Just wanted to say after listening I think it obviously similar, but cannot say that it was deliberate. Once it was brought to her attention, she immediately gave him credit and added him to the royalties as well. Often times when this happens, the person doesn't own up to it and it has to go to court before this end result is achieved.

I have been listening and following Steve Earle since I was ten years old. Twenty five years now. I just recently seen him for the sixth time at Massey Hall. Got his autograph and a hand shake before the concert totally awesome. Country radio does not know a true artist that's for sure. But on the other hand Miranda is for sure a Steve Earle fan lol.

Miranda ripping off a (barely) one hit wonder from three decades ago! Yeah, that's something she needs to do. She's destined for the kind of fame only the like of Loretta Lynn experience. Earle a nobody who hasn't made a single contribution to country music.
Reading your post once again continues to make me laugh. no contributions to country music? first of all, real country music is dying on the vine if we have "artists" like Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban. Real country music died with Waylon, everything sounds the same to me, they sound alike, they look alike and I bet you when Steve Earle is 90 years old he is still going to be touring and I will still be going to see him.
