NBC Plans Returns, Makes Pickups - 'Office,' others set for Apr...

Full story: Zap2it.com

Steve Carell of 'The Office' "The Office" is re-opening in April. So are "Scrubs," "ER" and "30 Rock." Fans of "Heroes," "Chuck" and "Life," however, will have to wait until fall 2008 to see those shows.

If I were a betting man, I would say that none of the shows not mentioned will return. I am a fan of two out of three of them (FNL and Journeyman) but I think they are SOL. The option on picking up Journeyman beyond the initial 13 has lapsed so it is unlikely. Bionic Woman had too many ad dollars put into it before it aired and never really delivered the ratings. And Friday Night Lights had a bit of a sophomore slump creatively and never got any higher ratings than it did last year.

As long as NBC gets a fair amount of viewers with it's reality programming ("Deal or No Deal", "American Gladiators", "1 Vs. 100", etc., etc.), it is unlikely for any non-smash hit to be picked up.

I really, really like NBC to give those three shows a change especially Bionic Woman. I really like BW show and I hope NBC won't cancel it.

Kyle,

Just look at how long Sci-Fi has been making us wait for new Battlestar Galactica. I believe it has been close to a year now, and nothing to do with the strike. It was supposed to come back in January, then Feb, now April.

I hope NBC decides to bring Journeyman back...I'm absolutely addicted to it. It was a great addition to my monday nights with Heroes.

It really bugs me that is NBC (probably Silverman) seems so uninterested in airing the finale to Scrubs, after having it for 7 seasons. To air it for then long and basically cancel it before the last 5 episodes is just low. I hope they change their minds on this, although Bill Lawrence has said we will get the finale in some form.

BRING BACK JOURNEYMAN!!!!! ARRGGHH!!!!!!!!!! How many f*@king times do I have to scream this?? I'm so tired of this sh*t....

In conclusion, I miss Journeyman....

And we have to wait till next fall for "Life" and "Chuck"? What the hell?

Does anyone what happened to Medium? It's never on anymore...it's really strange. I miss it. I think they aired three new episodes and then replaced it with crappy episodes of Deal or No Deal or something. I personally find that stupid >:(

Smart move to bring HEROES back...I loved that show and it found its way in the last few episodes of Vol. 2 Would also be nice if NBC brought back Journeyman. That show was so well written and the actors were great. NBC...you have alienated enough viewers with this strike and now its time to win us back by rewarding us with what we WANT!

Bionic Woman was a wasted opportunity. I don't know how they managed to screw up such a great concept, but they did. Instead of focusing on Sarah Corvis, played by the excellent Katee Sackhoff, they focused on the dull Jamie Sommers. Maybe it was the way she was written or the actress, but i just didn't get into her like i did Katee's character.
Sucks about Journeyman, but at least they had a nice final episode that explained some stuff.

Thank Gosh for bring all the Thursday night line up back new. NBC, as I've said before do not cancel ER. It remains fresh even after all these years. Also, bringing new Law and Order's, SVU is a smart idea.
Do not cancel Journeyman, Bionic Woman, or Friday Night Lights. The 1st two didn't have time for audiences. Friday Night Lights is one of the best shows you've ever had.

Here's another vote for Journeyman. Glad Chuck is coming back. Light hearted dramady. Fun to watch. Bionic Woman, take it or leave it. I'll watch if it returns, won't miss it if it doesn't

They should make some changes to Bionic Woman and bring it back. They really to change Jaime Sommers and give the show a whole new look, that was identical to the one back in the 70s. It would work, trust me!
NBC has got some of the best reality and game shows on network TV and should just make 40-50% of their schedule featuring those shows.
They should expand on American Gladiators.
NBC can you please bring some multi-camera sitcoms back to the table.

Don't know why Scrubs is going into it's last season [unless Bill Lawrence wants it stopped]. One of the best comedies around.

With the studios reducing the number of pilots to save costs like this "short" season, expect to see marginal shows get renewed.

Bionic woman, I think, has been cancelled. Except for really crappy shows out there, many got maybe a dozen showings before they were dropped. Few cancellations this year [prior to the strike] compared to previous years.

For god's sake, I wish they would stop stringing us along. I desperately want "Journeyman" back, but if it's not happening, I wish NBC would just SAY SO!!!!

Don't stop believing that NBC will renew "Journeyman". They'll bring it back, and fans will welcome it with open arms. Other fans must go separate ways. "Friday Night Lights" will go down in the city, but the wheel in the sky keeps on turning. Don't know where I'll be tomorrow.

It's a crying shame Scrubs is getting treated like this. It deserves the 4-7 episodes needed to finish things off right, and NBC *better* give it to them.

Journeyman is dead, same with Bionic Woman. Neither had good enough ratings, end of story.

I can't believe NBC might not bring back Friday Night Lights. They shitcan American Dreams a few years ago and now this. I'm starting to hate this network just like FOX.

The loss of Journeyman is a heartbreaker. Heard rumors might get moved to FOX, but I think wishful thinking. What kills me is that foolish shows like "Carpoolers", "Big Bang Theory", and that "Moment of Truth" continue to be greenlighted. Gee, why don't I watch network tv anymore...?
