Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell in 'Get Smart' Missed it by that much. Actually, the new version of "Get Smart" misses by a fair-size margin.

The reviewer I think defeats her own purpose in the very introduction of her review. This film isn't intended to be Shakespeare. It's just supposed to be a fun time at the movies. And from what I've heard from others who have seen the film, it does the job. At least this film actually tries to look like the original. What annoys me are films like I Spy and Wild Wild West that completely forget - or ignore - what made the originals work. This one comes a lot closer than many I've seen in awhile.

If you want to see some high-end drama, there are plenty of options, and if you want sophisticated comedy, Woody Allen will probably have another film on the way soon. This is Get Smart. That's all you need.

I just got home from watching this movie and i thought it was great. It was funny, had good action, and kept many of the things that made the show so great. Whoever wrote this had the wrong mindset going into this movie, i highly recommend it to everyone.

Movie was hilarious. First flick that didn't put me to sleep in twenty years. I guess reviewers have to make their opinions heard, too.

After my initial reaction to the review, I have now seen the film and in my opinion it's the first TV series remake I've seen for the big screen that actually works, and works well. It's a funny movie, everyone in the audience loved it, and they picked perfectly in casting Carrel and Hathaway. This is a film I don't hesitate recommending to fans of the old show and newcomers. It's not an Austin Powers clone, nor is it one of those "let's change everything and make it relevant" remakes. It's a fun film, and some minor off-color moments aside, it's one the whole family can enjoy.
