Holy Hannah! Is Miley an Unsafe Role Model?

Consumer Reports pointed out a problem in Miley Cyrus' recently released blockbuster 3-D movie, "Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour." Safety, and role model-wise, that is.

Maybe kids should watch Nick's "Zoey 101" with the wonderful, pregnant, 16 yr old Jaimey Lynn Spears. "Hanna Montana" is a wholesome, humble show and she is a great role model for pre-teen, and older girls. I for one, am glad that my girls watch her show instead of some of the other garbage that caters to girls their age. This is just making something out of nothing. No wonder the other Spears gal is in rehab, or whatever she's in. BTW, Nick is no longer on at MY house until JL Spears is gone. Not that they will really care. Its really a shame.

You know.. I agree with you Ace. Nick, Nick Toons, and the Cartoon Network are all banned from my TV sets. I used to have the rating TV-14 or higher from the TV's in the kids bedrooms banned, but after watching some of the programming that rates TV-7 I decided to take cable off of each of their sets and have one that they can watch in the family room. When my youngest one is older and more mature, I'll unbann it. But for now the only channles they are allowed to watch is Boomerang and Toon Disney. (They also get a the Discovery, History and NGC channels.) Oh.. I don't know about your TV but ours has a timer, so the kids can't turn their TV on unless its between the hours of 5 and 9. (Each child has an hour of TV time) It comes in very handy so you can kick the kids outside to play.

Unsafe? Not yet. Once she turns 18 but still appeals to the <18 and pre-teen crowd, then she's dangerous.

In her future, you can pretty much count on:
1) turning 18 and letting go of all inhibitions
2) panty/bra shots (or less) in a men's magazine
3) a drunken spree widely reported in media
4) possible drug problems before she hits 20
5) a bunch of "what went wrong" stories in the tabloids and mainstream media

Oh, and lots of appearances by daddy Cyrus to explain how he tried to intervene.

Regardless, sales of both of their albums, etc., will go up after all the dust settles. She could even go on to win a Grammy.

I have a younger sister that watches this type of crap. So, I decided one day to sit down when I was visiting and watch to see what these programs are like. After a careful review I would never let my child watch this stuff in fear that they may try to take on the personality traits of these actors. There is no intelligence in these shows teaching kids that being stupid and annoying is ok behavior. Hannah Montana/Miley Cirus and Zoe... Great examples of slutty teenagers glorified by the media.

Keep in mind that Miley/Hannah Montana are manufactured celebrities and that her musical success is completely within the sheltered environs of Disney. She has not competed in the real music world. Her songs are prepackaged pap that read like Disney scripts. As long as Disney keeps pulling in the big bucks from her, she will have that success inside the Disney studio walls.

Once they tire of her, she outgrows her usefulness or next years cute little girl model comes along to bump her, Miley will be out on the street to compete in the real world. Her princess role will be gone and it will be harsh day when she realizes she is not nearly as adored as she thinks she is.

As far as the grounding of her father goes, there are sufficient photos floating around suggesting that Billy Rae’s relationships with Miley is borderline inappropriate that his role of pure father in this thing is entirely questionable. And let’s face it, the millions flowing toward Miley are leaking into Billy Rae’s pockets too.

THE MEDIA AND CRAZED FAN PANDEMONIUM WILL PUSH HER TO DRUGS, SEX, AND REHAB JUST LIKE THEY DO EVERY OTHER HOLLYWOOD "POP TART OF THE MOMENT" WELCOME TO HELL, MILEY. I HOPE YOU GET OUT ALIVE.

I don't doubt for a minute Disney's grasp on her present career. Just as I don't doubt they enjoy reaping the fruit from a bit o' controversy (panty shot on the Internet comes to mind). Nothing would surprise me.

As for daddy, something just ain't quite right there.

This is just silly unless it was important to the plot and she did it to defy authority.

Haven't you ever noticed how in many movies they remove the head rests so you can see the passengers interacting with those in the front?

It doesn't mean they are bad role models. They are just great cinematographers and prop masters

Yea, it's bad she didn't wear a seatbelt. But she's a horrible role model in other ways too.
