My Muslim neighbor is very, very glad to be in America. His children were born in America, and he has staked their future on America.

He works very hard and makes good money. He is a good citizen. He does not want to destroy America. He’s a nice guy, a good husband, a good father and a good neighbor.

Don't you see? Your neighbor is in fact "destroying" America.

More precisely, he is "destroying" the notion of a fictitious America built on Fundamentalist Christianity, manifest destiny, might makes right, and corporate/militaristic imperialism.

Then he is an exception. Look at all the stories, many right here in America, of honor killings by fathers of their daughters. Islam is evil.

I like America - just not your version of it.

I donate to the ACLU too.

You see, they protect our Constitutional rights - which is very "liberal".

Due process, separation of church and state, freedom of speech, no illegal search, no debtors prisons, etc.

These are all liberal values.

In fact, my right to blaspheme YOUR god is protected speech.

How do you like that?- you Jesus Freak.

Bill Of Rights:
Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Now, show me where independence from Britain is written into the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.
The Declaration and the Founding documents of our country are not the same documents. Try some history.
They didn't have to write it in. Have you ever read the phrases "No taxation without representation"? "No quarter"?
"The British are coming! The British are coming!" The Founding documents didn't have to mention Bitain. Use some common sense and try some history yourself.

You, as well as I, enjoy freedom of religion. Atheists are not executed here. You will only have to answer to God, not our government.

Have a nice life.

If McCain says yest to Hagee, he says YES to the money that Hagee's flock will contribute to his bid for the White House. Let's remember that nobody is close to the money that Obama has raised. Of course McCain is going to say yes to the bucks he needs to campaign.
This is greed over principal. This is why McCain is not right for the office. The man in office has already demonstrated the same principals putting the earnings of big business over the needs of the people.

He'd would be 100 correct, except for the FACT that America was founded on the "Freedom Of Religion".

At the time the colonies revolted, England had an official state church, the Church of England, which we now know as the Anglican Church.

In those days a King or Emperor ruled by Devine Right, meaning God had selected him to rule over the people. The Church being the voice of God had a hand in deciding who would be King, and was assured it would have no competition. One King. One Church. It was quite cozy for them both, but it deprived people of their basic human rights.

It was a double whammy. If you questioned the government (the King) then not only were you a traitor but a sinner as well. It all assured the Church an important in matters, as the King needed the Church to place the crown upon his head.

That was the relationship between church and state that was specifically rejected. To be sure the Founders wanted to separate all churches as much as possible from the governments of the new republic.

This in no way reflects on their faith or lack thereof. That is a different story. In fact, the author of the theory of Social Contract, which the founders in part based our governments on, was in fact a very devout man. In his faith he found a love by God for all his children, and therefore could not believe that He favored any one of them to rule absolutely.

So yes, you are absolutely right. The United States was founded on the principal of separation of church and state perhaps over all else. This in no way was ever meant to deprive people of their right to worship. Rather the opposite, since it allowed people to worship as they choose, rather then how a king chose.

Freedom to conform is no freedom at all. All faiths and all denominations of those faiths must be free to worship. We are not a Christian nation, though most of us are Christian. We are a free nation, free to choose for ourselves. It may be that the creation of an environment where people may exercise that choice by free will that most pleases God.

Does McCain even attend a church on a regular basis? He doesn't seem very religious to me.

I love how you neocons respond to a point that is a negative against your comments and try to equate it to something else. In the words of PeeWee Herman, "I know you are, but what am I?"
You are a whiny crybaby like Barack Hussein Obama.

You are confused. A racist is one that is prejudiced against people based on their race. Both of us being white, that is not actually possible.
You throw invectives around so casually I guess you get them mixed up now and then. I guess that makes you dead wrong.
You mean to accuse me of being a chauvinist, one that is bigoted against women, or a misogynist, one that hates women. Are you sure you really have that BA you claim?
You seem to work in a frenzy to be as unpleasant of a person as possible to everyone possible. You are entitled to your opinions, it's true, but the way you insult people that disagree with you shows that you have little respect for anyone, including yourself.
You're such an unpleasant person that you make yourself look feeble of mind.
My dad always used to say,“A mouth that resorts to obscenities is connected to a mind that has run out of ideas.”
Your dad gave a very good description of you, didn't he?
You are the one that calls people names and makes attacks against them because they don't idolize your god,Barack Hussein Obama, the way you do.

Typical Obamamite response you gave. It's unfortunate that you are so ignorant that you have to call anybody who doesn't support Hussein Obama a racist. You know as well as I do that you have been calling me and anybody else who doesn't support Hussein, racists.
Yet, you have the audacity to accuse me of doing the same thing you do. Isn't that a hoot!

You really should look in the mirror at yourself before you accuse someone else what you do.

I have the audacity to forgive you your many transgressions against me, including speaking ill of my father, who passed on some time ago.

I will say that I will not longer speak to you, as it is beneath my dignity as a gentleman to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

You are the one who mentioned your deceased father's description of you. I thought it was a good one.

Yep, you most defintely are unarmed when it comes to wits, sense or logic.
