Why is this being given major news story treatment by The Berkshire Eagle?
Is it even being reported in other news media in serious fashion, let alone as front page news?
Apparently only The Eagle is so enthralled.
So a pair of aging folk rockers decides to get back together for a concert tour, what's the big deal?
It just goes to show how deep the Obama Depression has hit the music industry that this pair who keep splitting up feel inclined to join together yet again because neither performer can garner enough attention (excitement?) on his own to warrant a promoter to be willing to risk big bucks to back either singer alone for a concert tour.
The only reason then that this is on the front page must be because The Eagle is shilling for Tanglewood in anticipation of the ads the BSO will now run.
At least hookers are honest enough to give this type of activity a name.

Poor Heller can't even handle a news report about Simon and Garfunkel without finding some kind of political doom. He is a major loser in a world that is full of wondrous people and events.

Indeed, it is a world of wondrous people and events, but what does that have to do with folk rocker egomaniacs at Tanglewood who jumped the shark decades ago?
If you like tired primadonna rockers, might as well go to a Kiss concert, light your Bic, and wave your arms in unison with the crowd.

Why do you even care? So tell us why this offends you? Are you really that much of a loser that you have to condemn a paper for printing a story about two legends getting back together for a gig. Wow, you're parents sure must have done a number on you. time for therapy there Mr. Heller.

Tanglewood needs to broaden its programming to stay alive but it had better develop a younger audience while its at it.

Snagging Simon & Garfunkle would have been big news and attracted a young audience in 1975.

Your blowhard assesments of all that is wrong with liberalism, Berkshire County, the Eagle, or anyone who dares to rise in the morning with the hope of a new day is, by now, just so tedious and predicatable that methinks your weeny must be about the size of a thimble. Or at the very least, why don't you fly under a new handle, so at least we can have some sport trying to figure out what that new handle will be (micro ****, perhaps?). You still fail to answer the simple question: Why is Simon & Garfunkel's appearance at Tanglewood considered by The Berkshire Eagle to be front page news on a day when, for example:
BP's oil well is still gushing into the Gulf and people are calling Obama's mishandling of the cleanup 'Obama's Hurricane Katrina'; and on a day when the Obama Administration has reached a milestone of 1000 dead American troops in Afghanistan; and when Obama himself is being accused of committing an impeachable offense in allegedly offering US Representative Joe Sestak a job if he would withdraw from a primary challenge to Sen. Arlen Specter; and when many of the economies of Europe are teetering on default; and when Iran is blowing off both America and Russia in pursuit of nuclear arms; and when California municipalities are on the verge of default; and when Obama's public support is continuing to dwindle; and when the Mass. Legislature is considering anti-illegal immigration legislation similar to Arizona's; and when the Mass. Probation Department is under growing scrutiny.
These are just a few of the news stories that on the surface would appear to have far more relative importance and claim to The Eagle's front page than news of the appearance on Tanglewood's stage of two hippie-era troubadours.

But Heller is at least somewhat consistent--he doesn't like James Taylor either. Maybe he could make comments about Art Garfunkel's tax status next. Or he could tell Paul Simon which charitable donation to make.

Maybe Heller parents were democrats and beat him mercilessly every day. There has to be a deep seeded reason he is so obsessed with his liberal phobia.

This guy is in dire need of an intervention.
