The Fray has actually been doing covers of Heartless before Kris Allen did it on Idol.

We were at the concert last night. I agree that The Fray made no attempt to engage the crowd. It was a rather sterile performance although they sounded good. I wouldn't go see them again unless the opening acts were great. Actually the Fray did that cover of Heartless before Kris Allen did, which is what inspired Kris Allen to perform it on American Idol. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1611249/2009... I agree Kris does a better job with it than The Fray.

You do a disservice to Jason Castro by mocking his 4th place finish on American Idol.(Daughtry was also 4th place and I wonder if you'd complain about that if he performed here). Jason has been signed by Atlantic Records and will release his first full album in January. He's a talented, genuine singer/songwriter and his finishing place on American Idol has nothing to do with his present career. I don't know where you were standing, but we were in the center of the lower floor section and had no problem whatsoever hearing Jason. Granted the acoustics in the venue aren't the greatest, and our ears were still ringing from the much too loud music blasted for the hour before the show actually started. Jason will be back to The Basement in February which will probably be a better venue for his genre of music.

All in all we enjoyed the concert. We didn't miss the Ting Tings and wished in place of the silliness by WNCI's morning crew we could have heard a few more songs by Jason Castro.

I was able to hear Jason Castro just fine and he sang beautifully. He's really matured since American Idol. I could hear members of the audience talking when his songs got quiet, but he had an acoustic set for this concert so it's naturally going to be quieter than a rock band. If he could have performed a few more songs it would have been great, especially since the Ting Tings didn't perform.

I wasn't there but what I have heard on you-tube Jason was phenomenal like always - I had the honor of seeing him perform and he sure is a talented artist/songwriter and I know there are lots of fans just waiting for his cd! Love Jason and I know all his hard work is going to pay off at the end!

The Fray covered Heartless first before Kris Allen ever did.

The Fray covered it in February 2009 on Live Lounge: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/livelounge/artist...

Kris Allen didn't cover it until May 2009 on Idol.
