I hope that no one else will fall for the Skillstrain/Scheidegger scam again. they have arrogant, no patience tutors, cheapest outdated software( just something you can pick up in the bin of any office.and hard sell salemen, generally telling you all kinds of lies

can you tell me more about bad experience with skillstrain? I've been told some lies about getting a free PC after three months ans so on, but nothing really happened, I'm having a feeling that there is no worth to pay them anymore for what they providing me with.

what about the financial services they deal with,(clydesdale) do they not charge you £25.00 if they recieve their money on time? I'm in the process of taking them further and tell us what you think about the Tutors! Farah

your absolutely right i have had bad experience with them they didnt tell me i was agreeing to finance what i didnt want.

I have just read about the Scheildegger Skillstrain scam. I have signed up for a CIW Web Management course and have a loan from clydsdale Bank which they arranged. I try'd to go on to their [e-mail] and found it wasn't found by google. I have a horrible feeling about this please e-mail me about this company before I part with any money, at [e-mail]

Total scam, I have completed the A+ section then was told I need to pay £130 for the exam, course cost me £2800, Told I would recieve class traing throughout the course,(I started in ~Dec 2005) Recieved I letter today (3 months after I told them to stuff it and give me my money back or I take you to court) to say I have a place booked for training for the day, it is in Luton, I live in Sheffield (sic) you may want to bring a packed lunch. I was told they were local or if not I would have travel and accomadation arangments made for me. Tried to phone the number that it says you must ring to confirm (01582 707800) the line is dead, tried to phone the number at the top of the letter (08450 777770) this line is also dead.
The salesman was obviously very good and in hind sight he realy played on my wanting to change profetions...TOTAL RIP OFF YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

I wasnt told about any finance agreement, I would really like to cancel the course which Im 8weeks into but cant as they only give 21 days which isnt really long enough?? Anyone help?

I wish I'd never done the Certified Internet Webmaster course - I'm still only half way through it, but I've paid nearly all of it off. The Internet Fundamentals section is a waste of time, and outdated. They ask you what you would use for newsgroups, with My Deja as the correct answer. It's now called Google Groups now!

Most of it could be done without using a computer at all. In fact, they're so resistant to progress that you can't contact their administrative department by email.

Still, at least you can view Tutor Marked Assignments online instead of waiting for them to arrive by SECOND CLASS POST! What century are these people living in? They should have had Student World in the first place.

I had a course advisor on a visit as well. I was wondering about doing a CIW course - http://www.skillstrainuk.com/web_designer.htm... . He was offering 0% interest on a loan, they will refund the cost of the exams, free latest software if I want it, retake the course free of charge if I fail the exam, tutors on phone and over the student world website available and live internet training.

To doublecheck I called the number above - it worked fine for me - and they confirmed the conditions given by course advisor.

So I'm really tempted to go for it. Despite some negative posts here, because I couldn't believe that the company with so many students and good testimonials on http://www.skillstrainuk.com/testimonials.htm... could be so bad.

I also found http://www.mymultiplesclerosis.co.uk/webdesig... former CIW student who has done well in my eyes.

Hopefully I will be right.

I actually signed up for Skills Train course and they claled me back. But I did not use my real name. In the middle of the office I put the mobile on speaker so all could hear (this is Jan 2007). I aksed if they were part of Shitedegger. She said yes it was the same group. So I then said "Artent you guys a bunch of con artists?". The lady then wet it a bit. I related to ehr how I had responded to junk mail and that an uninvited salesperson had come round to my house. I was not told the price of the A+ when I was called and he spoke for 2 hours (including drinking a cup of disgusting Indian tea complete with green cardoman seeds) telling me the price at the very end after some tests that a baboon could do with his tail. The cost (this was December 2002) was £1500. When I said I had to think about the smaes scum said "Sorry to have wasted your time" and ran off forgetting to put his shoes on. This low life scum said "You have to ask your financial adviser dont you" when I said I would discuss it with my wife. He totally went rabies infected when I said that I was not going to sign that minute. He then said here is a video and my name and number (Robert Stephenson) and give me a ring and we will see if there are any spare places for you (like there are spare places in prison anymore). The video was so cheesy, which I guess is understandable that Sheitdegger are a Swiss company. I then learnt from students at 2 other training places (Smarttrack, now bankrupt despite their innovative training) and Connectivity (which may have been renamed). Now in the latest saga this year the lady on the phone told me that this Robert guy had been sacked due to innappropriate behaviour and that a nice lady claled Yana was now in the area (well she's not as I have since moved house). She also said in response to blogs like this that it was down to laziness. Exact words were "You cannot join a gym and epxect to get fit without going regularly". But she gave up without much of a fight except by this promise that if the course is not passed first time ti can be taken free of charge (how about a refund mate?).

This lot are depserate and need to con people to remian financially viable. Most training places are all hype. But Scheidegger/Skilltrain/Shitedo gger are the lowest muck at the bottom of a disused sewage tank.

I have just signed up for skills train, but after reading reviews about it i am really wishing i hadnt. Can anyone give me a number to cancel agreement. I would appreciate any help at this point hopefully before its too late.

i am also currently doing a web design course, i have received no help what so ever! i am seriously regreting starting this course, if i had seen the small print on the back of the contract which states that after signing you only have 3-4 weeks in which to cancel i would definetly have not bothered to sign. any ideas on how to get out of this?!?!

I have just recently sign up for web design course (CIW Certificate) alsmost three months now and I actuallu sent some assignment to them through email for the first 2months but now i have sent anything to them and no one seems to care as to why this is happening, they claimed that you will get tutor monitoring your progress but this sounds like bullshit because noone has ever called me to ask me how i am doing on the work, and the bald head bastard that sign me up for the course hasn't ring me back since he left house. Anyone know how to cancel this course with them because im lossing interest with the information im getting about them. Or maybe we should all send a petition letter to them or something!?

I signed up for the Cisco A+/N+/CNNA on 31/05/07, my first class was meant to start yesterday 14/06/07. The sales reps gave me their mobile number and I phoned them, they said they would call back and they didnt, i phoned back only to find the mobile phone was switched off.

This is a con, 1,000's of people have lost all their money and guess what...im next! Iam going to contact my police station either tomorow or the next day...tomorrow im going ot make a LOt of phonecalls to these people AGAIN!!!

Dont waste your money, go to Open University first, i wish i did.

i am one of the victom, they tell a lie and do not mentioned the real things. i just contact them to send me thier propectus had no idia they gonna send me their rep, who is totaly a blondor to get sighn onece by unfairmeans and once you done it you r in a deep troubble, i dont know how i am gonna cop it now as when i called then for cancletion they said its too late. Help me to get rid of this if someone knows the way out thanks.

I sent them a webmail saying that i was not happy with the course especially when i saw that the programme BBC Inside Out had investigated them! i received a letter yesterday from skills train and it basically told me that i could have the course cancelled and any further payments waived as long as i signed a document which explained the main reason i want is leave is the BBC documentary. I plan on signing the document but also adding a note that i was unhappy with the course anyway, the documentary just made me realise i wasn't alone with this problem and something could be done.
The course is a complete scam, i feel so stupid for believing there lies!

Im also doing a computer course which is webmaster with skillstrain,I find it hard to get on their bloody website .I also had to cancel direct debit payment for just one month and paid with my card, the following month I gave them my direct debit details to start paying direct debits again , but instead I recieved a letter saying they are going to charge me £20 for late payments.
After reading all the negative comments Im begining to wonder whether it is worth doing this course any longer . Is their any positive coments about skillstrain scheidegger, please let me know
