ok relax.. it's just a show. Michael will be alive in the real life

They ended one of the best shows on tv but that they had Michael die was completely heartbreaking!

i agree dea - i felt like it was kind of a slap in the face of the fans, after all the characters had been through. it made the ending of the show, and all the ordeals everyone went through, feel empty and meaningless. the show was intense and had alot of good messages, but what the way they ended it just didnt feel right.

wow, that was a ridiculous ending to a really wonderful series. I've watched since day one faithfully, but they were scrambling big time in the finale and then to have michael die seems useless. what's the point?? all for nothing. too bad it ends on such a poor note

I'm annoyed that Michael died. Didn't the company cure him? I get it; he died but his brother and friends are free.
It's sad enough that the series ended, did they have to make it worse by killing him off. Why couldn't they just let him live? |

The ending was poetic. I would have been more disappointed if they all got to live happily ever after because that was never what kept me watching in the first place. It was a fitting end that only made you appreciate the character of Michael Scofield even more.

outstanding series finale but I am sad too (but yeah it had to be wrapped up).......the highlight was for me the general and the all time topper was Quinlan playing the over the top evil "mother".... anyway, I doubt we'll get a good series like this one any time soon... love to know what the actors will be up to etc....

It was a great show and I never missed an episode! Watched it with Nancy last night and we both agree that the General should have been waterboarded and Teabag fed to the sharks. Oh well, off to watch 24!

Exactly... didn't the company cure him (Michael)? What was that elaborate story with the screws in his head and on and on... does not make sense at all!!! There were so many unrealistic things that happened... Sara's dead... oh no she's not!! Then the guy at the end that exonerated them had previously committed suicide, oh no he did not... why didn't they just resurrect their dad as well... might as well since these writers have not followed any rules of believability in this story since the second season! I don't even know if I really believe Michael is dead, you never really know!! What was frustrating after season 2 was that the audience was never given an opportunity to take a breath and enjoy any kind of victory the characters had... it was always go go go!! So you wait for the finale to watch and enjoy the victory they have only to experience another catastrophic tragedy, as the writers once again go back on the story they have told... How the hell did Sara ever get pregnant in the first place? They never had any time to actually do IT, they were on the go all the time!! They you watch Sara skipping along with her kid to her dead husband's grave? Yeah... so realistic. Ok, I will stop here, said enough. It was a good first two seasons, I think it would have been better off as a miniseries... genius beginning, but disappointing and waste of time follow up to a great story.

Heres what I dont understand..."The company" gave him that surgery that they gave his mom- well she lived well past his age so It doesnt really make sense! And why the hell was everyone so happy at the end? Scofield is dead and their just going on like its fine. Does anyone know by the dates in the tombstone how long after their kid was born he died?

1 They did the same operation to his mother like 30 years ago successfully, and they cure him 30 years later with all that new technology and he dies? Common, and a big real huge common, I just hate when the writers just take us for idiots while they are. Burnie. |

Prison Break was a great series, from the moment they broke out, you knew that somehow not everyone would come out alive. By using Kellermen as a Ace up their sleeve the writers provided themselves with the tools by which to end it, and they did.
Kellermen, by means of the script was the gangs only way out, and they took it. Most of them freed and one of them back in prison where he belongs but neither forgeting Michael. Poetic as one would call it. This is why his death carries so much significance. After speding time free, watching his son grow, Micheal is finally at peace with himself and the way he leaves the wolrd. He accomplished what he set out to do and can now die, in his own terms. His wife, his brother, his friends and his enemies will never forget Michael J. Scofield. People that loved him will never foreget him and people that hate him cannot hurt him. Rest In Peace Micheal You accomplished what you set out to do. You saved your brother, even though you did save the world in the process. |

What a horrible ending to a horrible last 2 seasons. Not only did Prison Break jump the shark midway through season 2, they proceeded to get off the motorcycle, rape the shark, punch out its teeth, and empty the pool so it would die a slow, painful death.
The finale was just the ultimate piece of crap lazy writing that I've ever seen. Who wrote this? Bruckheimer? You should be ashamed. I was the biggest fan during season 1 and was wary when they didn't end it. Too bad. |

Loved the ending. I know killing Michael, when he could be alive (after all, he didn't have any problem after the operation.) adds much needed emotion to the finale. Whoever came up with the idea of making Michael dead did a good job.
If Michael was alive, then it is a one-dimensional happy ending. We will be left with a flat emotion. But now, this ending gives a great emotional aspect. We feel happy that everybody got their lives back, but on the other hand, we are heartbroken for Michael, who did everything in his capacity to save his brother and Sara. But all in all, a good series. |

1 Michael gave his live for his family and friends and thats how it should be. It was a realistic ending that any other bullshit writer can write for a hollywood ending but killing off Michael gave it a realistic touch to the story, and be the change you want to see :D |

I thought the ending was brilliant. Just as with every episode, I was captivated until the very end. An entirely happy ending would have been corny and too Willy Wonka-esque. I commend the writers for actually wrapping up the series without a cliffhanger or something lame like the Sopranos ending. No set up for "Prison Break the Movie" - just a poetic ending (just wish T-Bag would have eaten a bullet or died a slow painful death). Brilliant.
