Ok, I was going to keep my mouth shut, but i just couldn't after reading some of the comments that people posted the past few days on here. For one, yes I will admit I work for this company. I will say that I think all this is truly one sided. I'm not saying that the stories aren't true, and I'm not saying that it is right people have died in these homes. I dont think it is fair to air someone's dirty laundry out there like they have on Ray. My heart goes out to all my fellow co workers who work for Haven whose hearts are breaking watching and hearing these stories, knowing that people are putting us down and not recognizing the hard work we do each and every day when we punch that clock and give our residents the best possible care we can. We will get through this together. I cant see how people would want to give a bad name to those of us who work hard and care about each and every resident that resides in our company. A lot of you say oh i would never put my loved one in a home period. Well, guess what? I always said the same thing, until the time came when I had no choice. And trust me I did my homework and checked out several options. Guess where I chose? A Haven Healthcare facility, not because I worked for the company, I didnt even work for that facilty, and never seen the inside of it until the day I showed up there for a tour and I chose that building because I seen how caring the nursing was. So you all out there shouldnt be knocking all of Haven Healthcare......

Seems like the Courant needs a lesson on how hard it is to run a nursing home financially with a no increase from the state and utilities increasing rates at tremendous levels. The real story here is not Termini or the record company it is where has the state of CT DSS been over the last ten years when nursing homes needed financial help?

Answer: DSS has been shutting down nursing homes and giving little or no funding to others that have desperately seeked help.

Please send food..no where do Ii ready about the shortage of food. our supplier in Springfield Mass normally will not send us food, often we have no juices, detergents, and have to make do with what we have on the shelf. Then there was galley Food, what a scam this was. The food was un edible and a joke. Another money laundering deal with Ray and his friends.

Sounds like (1) Ray belongs in jail, and,(2) the State DSS continues to underfund places for the aged.... everyone gets screwed, and no one is held accountable. Typical CT bulls*&t

My wife worked at the Windham
facility about three years ago. All these charges will sooner or later be proven to be true. Ray is a self absorbed snake who only cares about himself. Many employees referred to him as the rat. Sooo true!

Now there's a deep and balanced thinker.

Much of this is the owner's fault. There are many other nursing homes across the state with just as bad if not worse records. I work in EMS and have been to more nursing homes than I can count. All of the sub-standard care boils down to one point: we need to take profit out of the health care system and put the money saved into ensuring we provide the best care. As long as there is a profit to be made, nursing home owners will skimp on the care.

Can you beleive that people actually support this company? I am sure that the 1st line caregivers work hard its the greedy management who extract large sums of money from a company in financial peril. Too many useless middlemen in the healthcare busssiness.

Finally, finally some justice for the elderly and the
immediate staff. Finally, Thank Heaven
This "monster" has to go to JAIL........he has gotten
away with this at the expense of our helpless elderly,
and the "tied hands" of the immediate staff, who went
into this business because they don't mind changing
the elderly, or changing their beds, or sitting with them
helping them eat, when the rest of the world is involved
with work, or kids, and can't be in two places at once.
Peace of mind is everything. Finally, Termini and his
staff have to go to JAIL, they need everything stripped
from them, like what happens to the elderly, and thrown
into a "cruel" facility with garbage food, steamed over and over, with no nutrients, no diapers,(I have to buy them
every month), no warm bed linens, hard from the bleach,
not enough staff to help the innocent brush their teeth.
Finally, Finally Justice for the Soft Spoken Weak and Frail
who couldn't Speak for themselves. Finally.
He must go to Jail

Get a Grip Fred, Other countries would have cut this man's hands off.
Switz, Eng,Ital, Fran, Swe and thousands of other countries revere the Elderly and they are treated with respect when they can't speak, or hold their urine. You'll be there too Fred. Remember all of us when you can't wipe your butt, or can't hold your urine, or can't brush your teeth and you look like hell because no one brushed your hair, or washed your face and the hair is growing all over your face and curling. When we can't do for ourselves, it's no different than babies, someone responsible, kind, with love should be in charge. Someone has to care for those who can't help themselves, and they need to feel Safe, and protected, like
children. What a pathetic situation to be in, knowingly aware of the abuse you are enduring and no way to tell anyone, because you can't form complete sentences. A CRIME...no other country will Accept.

They are not putting you or your coworkers down, they are on your side, if someone doesn't get Termini
to stop his nonsense, and send him to jail, you won't have a license any more - you will never be at peaced in the business you chose to go into, and the people who are helpless won't have you to help them.
Termini has dirty laundry because of the decisions he made. He made those decisions, it was his CHOICE.
My mom didn't have a CHOICE, and thousands of others, whose families don't even go see them, don't have a choice. If you're ethical, work with integrity, and can look in the mirror and be proud of who you are then you have nothing to worry about.
If you are worried that something you did, that was swept under the carpet and hidden will erupt, then you deserve to be standing beside Termini. Someone should have stopped Hitler, and innocent humans would not have been injured or killed. Sometime in life, you have to take a stand on the side of Justice and if you walk the walk every day like you are supposed to you would have nothing to worry about and nothing to defend. Termini needs to go to JAIL, he purposedly ignored integrity, dependence, and the right for life.
His "employees" wouldn't have joined a UNION if they were happy.
People are in therapy because of being abused, and becoming an abuser,
only the strong could continue to work under such a horrific environment and never become short tempered with the people they were caring for. He bought the food company, cut back on the food, steamed the mush, and then had the CNAs count the amount of food the people ate. So they were given 80% less, and it was recorded that they ate 60% of their food. Uh!!! give me a break! somehow 60% of 100% seems a lot different than 60% of 80%. no rolls any more, no milk anymore. I saw way too much in too short a time. He needs to go to JAIL NOW!

Greed is a terrible thing. No one is blaming the staff. They can only do so much with what they have to work with. The mismanagement of money is out of control. I wonder what "Ray's" salary and bonuses were? How come all these companies wait till they are owed so much before they cut off services? People need to held accountable. I hope this all gets straightened out because it is the patients that are really paying the price. Sad story.

this company has promised employee numerous amount of things including 2% matches with john hancock for some sort of retirement the company promises and promises but never comes thru in less, you ask for about 7 months and continue to persue issues. Ray does'nt care he never did he likes money thats all, he needs to be in jail.

Based on the article and comments, how appropriate it is that Termini signed Travis Tritt, who's hit song, "Here's a quarter, call someone who cares." would seem to be a good choice for the company's answering machine message.

I find it interesting that the Rev. Edward C. Doherty is alleging that Termini "had used assets from Haven's parent company, Haven Eldercare, for personal gain, and had committed "dishonest acts" in managing the company." I have no doubt that this was happening with Termini, but what about the good "Father's" doing the same thing in the late 1980's and 1990's with Roncalli Institue and Medway? The state should look into the millions that was used to fund extensive renovations of his personal homes, Dawn Marie Manor, The Abbey, the shopping center in downtown Cromwell, and the nursing home he bought in Florida. The good "Father" thought that his clerical collar would get him through all his misdeeds. Also, what about Saint Clements Castle? Where did he get the money to purchase and renovate this property? I'm sure it was all on the backs of the frail and infrirmed in his nursing homes.

Here's an idea; let's start a recording label and call it Category 5 Records. Yeah, that's the ticket. Let's name it after Hurricane Katrina which caused nothing but death and suffering. Hey, sound familiar- isn't that what's happening in Haven's nursing homes? How ironic!

agreed with 'former Roncali employee'. When I was there in the mid 90's, the ones referred to as snakes by the employees were the 'Father' and his nephew Barry.

Let me also echo the sentiments that the problem for the most part isn't with the front line employees (are there a few bad apples? Of course. Aren't there everywhere?), but with the (mis)management of this whole shady operation.

Maybe Travis Trit can do a benefit concert for Ray's bail money.
