Boniva is part of the drug classification known as "bisphosphonates". The source(hold onto your hats!) is derived from a waste product produced by the phosphate and metal factories.
When they clean the smoke stacks, a "liquor" of deadly fluorides, uranium, heavy toxic metals are obtained. This substance is biohazardous class "A" industrial waste. It dos not get magically converted or cleaned into a safe formulary either people. It REMAINS TOXIC to the very end of production where it reaches the duped consumer.
The same substance is also used for Rodenticide, Herbicide, Industrial Cleaners, and the deadly nerve gas SARIN is made from those ingredients!!
It was a sinister plan to save Global Manufacturers mega dollars and dupe the unsuspecting lazy public into paying for the stuff instead of the companies properly disposing of it which costs them money. The fluoride and metals cause damage to the body beginning on a CELLULAR level!
The bisphosphonate fluoride steals calcium, potassium, sodium from the cells leaving them dehydrated. Then the impaired cells cause damage to the limbic system, damaging the brain. It impairs the hypothalmus, the pituitary and other areas of the brain.
It supresses and damages the adrenal glands which are responsible for secondary estrogen and progesterone production i the female species of causing adrenal exhaustion, diabetes, hormonal imbalance, PMS, depression, water retention.By supressing the adrenals, the calcium/magnesium/potassium balance is altered as well as supressing Cortisol which is produced by the Adrenals and is vital for stable blood glucose levels, clarity, normal sleep patterns, sexual functional, intelligence-particularily the area of the brain that governs agression and self-preservation.
Lots more I have researched but the bottom line is if a medicine has a DISCLAIMER, don't take it! Also, the FDA NEVER approved fluoride as a drug as it is classified as an "A" poison used for killing things!!! Fluoride has NEVER been proven to help your teeth either!!! This is a 60 year-old lie perpetuated by the government to get rid of mass stores of fluoride/uranium/metal waste from A bomb production. It was also discovered to have a depressive effect on the brain and CNS which makes people subservient, docile, febrile minded.
Yes, that's right! There is a document from the EPA that states there are NO real findings that fluoride is good for your teeth!! A member of the American Dental Association was pressured and paid of to say it was good for your teeth.Any clinical findings have been proven fraudulent.
Even worse, people were poisoned as patients in a Rochester NY hospital when our government secretly gave them fluoride in their IV then took their blood and tissue samples. This is what is known as the Manhattan Project and it is part of our Governments heinous history!!! They began fluoridating the tap water right AFTER they learned of fluorides affect on the human body and more importantly-THE MIND!!!
I am preparing a report to present to our Water Authority and local residents with news media invited and demand they STOP FLUORIDATING US!!!
You're actiually a pretty sick indivdiual and need some help. Not everyone is out to get you and this in no way is how a drug manufacturer developed bisphosphanates. I have to go now, there are black helicopters coming over the ridge.

I started taking Boniva in January 2008. I took it for 4 months. After taking my last dose in April I have suffered back, neck and shoulder pain every day. Some days are worse than others, but I have to fall asleep laying on a heating pad every night. Does anyone know how long before this stuff gets out of your system. I have called my doctor 2 times, but have not heard back from her. I will never take anything like this again.

The pain went away prior to my mom's next shot. DO NOT TAKE THIS! It was even worse the 2nd shot!

Boniva should be ILLEGAL. My mother has been taking it for nearly 2 years and is basically like a 80 year old when she is only 62. She has constant severe back pain which sometimes prevents her from going out because the pain is unbearable and she can't walk. For all of you out there, STOP TAKING BONIVA! It will kill you in the long haul or worse, make you a cripple for life.

Hello - I took Boniva for 9 months 2 years ago and ended up in the hospital with severe pain. Renal failure, autoimmune hepatitis, and hemochromatosis is the diagnosis. I also dropped from my normal weight of 126 to 102 in that 9 month period. Before taking Boniva I was in excellent health but my gyn recommended the boniva because of my age and body structure. 2 of the 3 specialists agree it was from the Boniva. Still being treated. Does anyone know the name of a good class action attorney in Indiana? Don't want this to happen to anybody else!!!

Well I've under 30 and I'm on Boniva due to long term thyroid meds and high dose steroids. I actually talked to my dentist today about it and he advised if my teeth were needing more than standard fillings etc he would be worried. For now he said its about 4% of the population that run into problems. He did advise to stay away from any of the IV drugs they have much higher percentages. He will monitor me but for now hes ok with me continueing Boniva.

Hello - I posted on May 18th - just wanted to give you an update. My specialists have just told me that all my tests are showing that I am back to normal now - took 2 years - still have to take imuran for another 9 months and then will start decreasing. THERE IS HOPE. By the way, the post shows me from St. Louis - don't know where that came from - I live in Indiana.

I took Boniva 1 year ago and I will never be the same. I have been having so much pain in my teeth, gums and jaw it is not funny. I am terrified to go the dentist because what I have read about the jaw bone death I have all the symptoms and it says not to have teeth extracted. My teeth are breaking and so much pain comes with it. I can't sleep at night and live on advil. What a poison med this is should be outlawed
Can you tell me more about how you found information on teeth, gums and jaw with Boniva. I have been taking the drug for about 1 year and I have had several problems with me teeth.

I'm certainly not blaming Sally Fields for my musculoskeletal problems after 3 mo. on Boniva, but I definitely believe the clinical trials done by Roche were either insufficient or altered. While this 'drug' apparently helps a number of people, the rest of us are suffering through an unknown, extended period of excruciating muscle pain, bone/joint pain -- to the degree that the FDA on May 14, 2008 strengthened its 'warning' about Boniva (first issued Jan 2008)--PLEASE go to www.fda.gov and type in "Boniva" to read this warning before you EVER start taking this poison! I only took it for 3 months and have now lived through 45 days after the last dose of having to sleep upright because of the unbearable side muscle pain.

I talk to a Pharmist and she said that Boniva is not a poison, for there are a lot of people taking it and it's not harmful if you go by the direction on the that comes with it.

Was prescribed Boniva 2 months ago, just took 2nd dose Fri 8/1- I thought the "symptoms" I had experienced after the 1st dose were coincidence! Boy was I wrong, since Friday the pain across my chest into my abdomen is unbearable. I can't stand up straight, I'm nasueous, dizzy and cramping so badly I'm waiting for the "baby" to appear! I haven't slept soundly in 2 days, Can anyone tell me how much longer I will feel this way? Needless to say I am NOT continuing~ does anyone have any remedy for how I'm feeling now~ I feel ike my insides are turning to stone! And yes I followed all directions, my doctor's explanation from my original call to him after my 1st dose!
I'm an intelligent 50 year old women and cannot believe i was this stupid!

Hello, I just posted yesterday after taking my 2nd dose of Boniva, I know the pain you are describing, my suggestion to you is perhaps you can try a holistic detox~ I'm lucky enough to have such a practitioner in my area that I have used in the past quite successfully. I only wish I went to him BEFORE I started this! I wish better days for both of us.

I have been taking Fosomax for 2 years, and was recently put on Boniva because I was developing acid reflux type symptoms. I have been experiencing terrible joint and muscle pain for several years, and thought that it was just old age creeping in! I wasn't aware of these side effects, and just trusted my doctor because my mom has been on the medication for years, and has had restored bone density. I watch very little television, but happened to see Sally Field advertising the medication, and then I heard the list of side effects... severe bone and muscle pain. That's when I finally put the last puzzle piece in place, and saw what I had been doing to myself! What is the antidote for this poison? If you just stop taking this medication, do the symptoms go away?

I just started detoxing from this poison yesterday, they tell me it could take a week to take affect, but only because I only took 2 doses. My pain from the 1st dose was pretty much in my chest area, after the 2nd dose it continues from the chest all the way down to my hips! I haven't been able to eat or drink without severe cramping since Fri. evening. I am lucky to have a holistic gentleman who can help get rid of this stuff quickly, but he has seen others who were on for a much longer time and I'm sorry to say it took months to get them back to feeling well. Another friend of mine who took Fosomax swears it was the culprit of her herniated disc that required an operation, and her joints were also always in severe pain, she too had herself "detoxed" by a holistic. Hopefully you can find one in your area, if not at the very least go to an "all natural" vitamin store and maybe they can give you something to help clear it out as well. Spoke to my doctor who prescribed this crap to me yesterday, he apologized and said I have about 2 weeks to deal with the pain and to come in again and we'll take a blood test and talk alternatives~ yeah right! My holistic already has an all-natural calcium product that he has has excellent results with, with several women taking subsequent density tests and showing improved bone mass. I'll go that route before I put any other chemical in my body again. The "flying nun" should be in confession! Good luck to you- get detoxed as soon as possible!

Has anyone found something to relieve the pain yet? I only took one Boniva and I am debilitated by the pain in my chest, shoulders and arms. I use a pillow to keep the carseat strap from hurting me. I was an active, physically fit 54 year old woman wwho was conscientious about her health, and this drug is killing me. My doctor said it needs to run its course and work its way out of my system. I ONLY TOOK ONE! Thank you. Lori

WOW, you guys would make wonderful HONEST doctors who cares and who's not in it for the $$!! I'm a 45 yr. old female who's had Type I diabetes for 38 years, with a mild bone density. I'm not overweight. I've been on vary of Vit C, milk, and reasonable eating habits for a long time. I'm not much of a junkie. I was prescripted Fasomax a year ago and did some research b4 I took it. Didn't like what I found out and didn't touch it. Now, just yesterday, went in for my annual check up and told my gyn. that I wasn't taking Fasomax. Right before leaving he gave me free samples and a written prescription for Boniva. Again, here I am researching Boniva and didn't know it was related to Fasomax. Ugh, I'm seriously thinking about changing dr. I hope I can find a honest female dr. that understands the woman's body, than my present male dr.
So far from this forum, I've learned the alternatives - Magnesium, D, E-zorb, and the book, "The Bone Density Diet". Thanks yo guys.
I'll be checking back once in awhile.

Took Actonel for 2 years. Had acid reflux problems. Switched to Boniva for the convenience. Only took it for about 5 months. Started experiencing numbness in my left hand and leg. Went to see my internist. Said to stop taking it and see him after 3 months. Told him that 60% of the numbness was gone. He said that 60% improvement was not good enough. Wants an MRI of the brain! Now it has been 4 months since stopping the Boniva, 95% of the numbness has subsided but have tingling on different parts of my body like slight pin pricks. Anybody have any of these side effects?

Inspired by the ingenious invention of Boniva, I have a brilliant idea for a drug to promote weight gain. It's based on enterovioform. It works by causing extreme constipation. Bung 'em up and they'll put weight on!

Ridiculous? Well, that's the equivalent of how Boniva works.

Crude and primitive; typical mainstream medicine mentality.

I am 58,exercise daily, hold a hectic full-time office job, travel the world & consider myself VERY healthy. A few years ago, my Dr. read my bone test results & said I should consider Boniva. I do not like taking medication unless it is absolutely necessary so I didn't. I drink tons of milk, have never had a broken bone and take calcium tablets. At my physical last month, he again suggested Boniva as my bone testing still showed I am in the "yellow' zone. I protested but he gave me a sample & a prescription for 3 additional months. I hesitated for several weeks, as everyone knows about all the "side effects" of drugs from TV commercials. My husband said a drug that can reverse bone problems is a "miracle drug" & said I should probably take the sample, so I did. The next day I had a slight headache, but after reading the "side effect booklet" I figured I was imagining this, or it was the "placebo effect". It is now Day 11 & the headache has not subsided. It is worse.(I do not usually ever get headaches.) For 11 days I have felt like I was in a car accident & that my face hit the dashboard !!!! My temples are throbbing, my teeth all ache, my jaws hurt, my cheeks ache. Even my eye sockets hurt. If I hadn't been so busy & behind at work,I would have taken sick days last week. I am miserable, almost in tears at times because my face hurts so bad. I've gone to bed each night with a headache & it is still there when I get up. A bottle of Ibuprofen usually lasts me a couple of years...I've taken a bottle in 11 days ! I don't know why because the headache still hasn't stopped. Someone said maybe I have a sinus infection. NO. I am not sick. I am not stuffy, I do not have a sore throat. I am not getting a cold. There is no doubt in my mind that this 11-day headache is a result of the Boniva. It has not subsided & I am ready to scream. We are leaving for Spain in a couple of days & I can't believe that because of one pill, I may feel this miserable on vacation. I am throwing away the prescription for 3 more tablets. Yes, my grandmother & her twin suffered a broken bone just before they died....but they were 98 and 100 respectively !!! I will live with the fact that I also may suffer a broken bone at the century mark. I will NOT take Boniva for the next 5 years as my Dr. suggested and be this miserable in my 50's, though.
