"Shakespearean in mood" - I'm very much looking forward to seeing this movie! It's a bio - it's got a great story line - and it's got Denzel!

Also - to add to the list of great ganster movies - "Angels with Dirty Faces" with Cagney.

Some people think they demonstrate sophistication when they quote Machiavelli. However, if Machiavelli's tactics were so brilliant, how come he ended up banished to an island, and later was buried in an unmarked grave? Machiavelli was like the Karl Rove of his day. For a long time, he was the darling of political elites, but eventually even his fans got tired of his nastiness. If his contemporaries could assess him first hand and decide he was no longer worth the bother, then how come people in recent times feel the need to cite The Prince as an effective philosophy ?
What's more, haven't you figured out why his book was titled "The Prince" rather than "The King?" It was because patrilineal succession led to the practice of "an heir and a spare." The first born son became King, and the second son could not be more than a prince, unless his older brother died.

All the great gangster films have a factor that we remember; WE love the shoot -em up action of good being triumphant over dastardly villains.

I feel that individuals should see this particular movie in two aspects. 1. How the real Frank Lucas should have used his knowledge and wisdom from Bumpy Johnson in a more positive way. And this goes for any individual looking for a get rich quick scheme. 2. This is a very important part of history that alot of individuals had no knowledge of and I aplaud all individuals involved for taking a stand to allow us to know about diffrent parts of history and their attributes in today's communities,.
