Hi all. I am glad I found a forum where I can finally post about Russell Crowe. He is my favorite actor. I think he is gorgeous, passionate, believable and authentic in all he acts in. My favorite movie of all time is "A Beautiful Mind" and I was wondering if anyone can suggest to me other movies like this to watch of his. I don't know about LA Confidential, 3:10 to Yuma, Proof of life or American Gangster. I don't like alot of violence so have steered clear of Romper Stomper. I hope someone can steer me to some real tear jerker movies for me. I have also seen Gladiator and hated the violence but cry when he walks through the fields of wheat.

Have you seen The Crossing, Rough Magic, Hammers Over the Anvil, A Good Year, Cinderella Man or For The Moment?

I'm a huge RC fan and I agree his is gorgeous, passionate and completely believable-especially in A Beautiful Mind. Some of his movies are a bit violent. Proof of Life isn't his best, but American Gangster is fantastic and L.A. Confidential is one of my favorites, though I prefer to avoid violence.

Enjoy!

Oops, I totally forgot -Mystery Alaska and The Silver Brumby. I haven't seen The Efficiency Expert, Love in Limbo or Prisoners Of the Sun. Breaking Up is also good and The Sum of Us is GREAT!(The man's been in too many movies to remember them all!)

Thank you.. How's the Insider for a movie? Does that have violence in it too. I watched Gladiator just to see him fight and for his passion. I loved that just for his pure raw energy and acting.

"The Sum Of Us" is a wonderful RC movie in which he plays a gay, Aussie-rules football player plumber whose dad keeps trying to find him a mate. His father is masterfully played by Jack Thompson, a wonderful Australian character actor, and the tears abound, without falling into maudlin storytelling. It's available in the US on DVD. "The Crossing" and "Proof" are also wonderful, non-violent early RC films that are well worth your while. "Proof also stars Hugo Weaving ("Lord of the Rings"). "A Good Year" is a newer film that is also excellent, based on Peter Mayle's " A Year in Provence." Hope you find these titles helpful.
