Rupert Murdoch's grip on world media is loosening, as is his all-powerful image, the media mogul's authorised biographer says.

Let's hope so. Ruthless business practices plus seeing himself as kingmaker in the political scene is not a healthy mix.
He is undemocratic and chokes competition, perceived or real. If you look at it closely he perverts democracy by not being neutral towards candidates before elections and he also perverts the free market economy, with the NY Education Department's contract just the latest example.
His methods are not much different from the Kremlin's MO and the sooner his influence is cut back, the better. The Murdochs are not Australia's Kennedys. Some people are even ashamed that the beast News Corp. was unleashed from Australia.
