Feels like the day when that shark got the Kitner boy.

RIP. The hospital announced he died of multiple myeloma.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water....
That was one scary movie which made for a scary summer on Long Island beaches. My condolences to the family. Thanks, Roy! |

He also played great opposite Gene Hackman in The French Connection.
Roy Scheider was a good actor. Condolences to his family. |

No more killing sharks for Martin Brody...
Is it just me or does this read like a combination obituary/ real estate ad?
No on the level of Jaws and French Connection but Blue Thunder was a great movie too. |
| ||||
After reading it, I was like...that was the weirdest announcement of anyone's death I ever read...He had a 5 bedroom house on 1 acre of oceanfront with 4 fireplaces!! With all the cutbacks at Newsday, I think the janitor was the only guy left in the building and they had him cut and paste the article together and post it. |
guy would have been a great cop . he will be missed
This post will make no sense to anyone who reads the aticle after this post. The article was just updated and they added alot and took out the part describing his Sagaponock house. |

The People of Sag Harbor lost a good friend, RIP "Chief Brody".
Yeah I missed that guess they editted after it went to print. Now it looks like a combo obit/movie review, there was no need to write how the movie was reviewed, THE MAN IS DEAD. Geez. Gene learn how to write a respectful obit! |

He had just sold his house to Billy Joel a couple of months ago and was renovating a new one out east. Such a shame.
"Show me the way to go home" http://www.youtube.com/watch... p.s. PJM how is we have the same ID

Newsday embarrasses me. meaning this is our paper. The writing, in particular the sentence structure and the content of so many of their stories is ridiculous.
now that is some funny shit right there. |
So what! What about our TROUPS in the middle east, They are more important,
Then movie stars,Football,ETC players. |
I was 10 when that movie came out. A very impressionable age. I wouldn't go into the water for the rest of the summer.
Scared the be-jesus out of me. |
There should be a statue erected of
"Chief Brody" somewhere on the south shore, preferably Jones Beach, where he can be eternally vigilant watching for sharks... |
