Not all three houses have burned. The one the Orbisons lived at, at 166 Caudill Drive, Hendersonville, is still standing.

Were these houses from the aluminum wiring era by chance?

Why does it matter how much the home is worth? The owners are still without a home.

The reporter must have been in a hurry to file the story. In one fire, two of Roy's boys died. That house was next door to Johnny Cash's home. Later, another of Roy's homes was consumed in a wild fire in Malibu, CA. Then, more recently, Johnny Cash's home, which is next door to the vacant site of Roy's burned home, burned. Johnny Cash bought the lot on which Roy's original home burned and refused to sell it to anyone while he lived. Roy then built a home a little further down the street and Marty Stuart now resides there. By the way Roy's parents lived across the street as did Johnny's parents.

Regardless of what the home is worth, the people that lived there lost everything that was in it. They deserve the same respect that anyone who looses a home should.

I wonder if Orbison used the same builder for all of his homes.

What does it matter how much the home cost. Just be thankful no one lost their lives in that fire. Thngs can be replaced but a person can not. Thank God no one was there when this happened. God be with the owners in all this.

I am probably the only living soul to have watched both Roy Orbison's and Johnny Cash's homes burn to the ground. I attended Goodpasture School in Madison, TN with them, was their friend and neighbor; the placque in memory of their death is still at the school. I was friends with brother Wesley as well and Johnny's son Jone Carter. We saw Roy's house burn as we were on Old Hickory Lake then, recently, I was home visiting my mom when I say Johnny Cash's house burn (was currently owned by Barry Gibb). Weird... Drag, huh?
